I'm not sure what the OP is in response to, but if it's an attempt to say "don't complain, we get a lot of stuff in the patches", then I'd like to offer that complaints about what we get and appreciation for what we have are not mutually exclusive. There is also the counter-point that some of the things on your list were features that were promised as being available at launch, and were later added due to a rushed pre 2.0 development schedule. Minus several dungeons, the game is in a state now where many other MMOs are typically at at launch.
That said I really commend the devs for releasing such quality content on such a consistent schedule. There are delays, and deadlines that get pushed back, but they are usually consistent with what they promise - minus a few occasions. This game definitely has the most meaty updates of any MMO that I've ever played and I really look forward to 3.0+.

I don't see anyone complaining about the total amount of content we get each patch really.
People complain about individual features they dislike in a game that they like the rest of, for the most part. They're usually not the same players who hate everything, and they usually argue over 1-2 things because they negatively impact their enjoyment of the rest of the game.
People have the right to be mad when we're told individual housing will be a totally separate system with lower prices and then it ends up exactly the opposite. They're allowed to be frustrated and worried with the addition of a cash shop when the company is still raking in subscription fees. It doesn't mean they hate the game overall, or the amount of content we get with each patch. If anything, it's a sign they like the game overall; if they didn't they'd just be gone.

You are no better than the straw men you belittle in your op.
I respectfully disagree with the OP.
We are customers, and as such, we expect the company to provide us with enough service to accomplish our reason to subscribe, in this case, we pay SE to keep us entertained with the game. Patchs with new content, fixes and modifications are done to keep us interested in the game and possibly bring more paying customers. The devs are doing what they are paid for and SE is not doing us any favor, they are just trying to secure our subscriptions. This is just business.

We do have tons of content each patch. But they always do a few "bad decision" with every awesome onesThis patch is all great overall, with the big mistake of taking off level 90 gears out of the circulation. It's stupid decision, newbies now have to grind longer, instead being able to get a few basic gears at level 90 to do more dungeons for their level 100 gears.
At least they did right with the "reward adjustment" on The Hunt, now it is fair and not the must have activities to do. The allied seal exchange on the level 100 gears is ridiculously overpriced though. I would think 250-400 seals would be much fair for level 100 gears (which is already 10 times the exchange rate of level 90 ones).

I appreciate the work that the team has done, however keep in mind these are all features that were conceptualized and promised to the 1.0 players when the team set out to remake the game. Many of these items were actually introduced later than originally planned.
The support from the team had been fantastic but it's important to remember that this game is actually a rebuild and it following a carefully crafted project plan that was publicly shared.
With that said the first expansion looks fantastic and it already well beyond my expectations.

Amen, brother.
I haven't been on since 6 months ago but sounds like they haven't fixed Bard dps after all this time.
I think people dislike the cash shop (myself included) because of what we have previously experienced. When Blizzard introduced the cash shop, it did not help development, it hampered it. Cool mounts and minipets were relegated to cash shop only, while in-game everything was a simple reskin. They couldn't find time to make a new PvP gladiator mount, but they found time to add TWO new cash shop mounts. Patches didn't come any faster (in fact, they came slower...MUCH slower) and they came with less content than ever before. Look at the upcoming Warlords of Draenor...it's the least amount of content that has ever been in a WoW expansion, and yet it's $10 more expensive.
I would imagine that's one of the leading reasons why so many of us dislike the cash shop. Now, FFXIV may be completely different. They might actually use this money to make even better patches, better expansions, improve the servers (please?), and so on. But it's one of those "once bitten, twice shy" things. I've seen what can happen when a subscription game adds a cash shop, and it isn't pretty. I just don't want that to happen here too.
