The daily hunt is a tricky thing. As if a pop queues and another player is attacking it, you may not be able to run away from it without it counting as griefing. If you happen to have aggro, and reset it by running away to make your dungeon pop. You're violating the FFXIV ToS by griefing.

The treasure map you may run away from if a pop would occur. However, you've lost your treasure map in the progress.

Minimize the game and go to youtube, yes, that's an option. However, is that really the option we should be looking for? Is it right for SE to punish players in participating in ingame activities whilst waiting for a queue to pop? As that's exactly the message SE is giving out right now. I think not. And therefore I also highly disagree with this change. And I'll make sure enough that SE understands that as well. Every single occasion during which I run into a lockout penalty as I missed a pop due to a timer running out whilst I was in the midst of e.g. a craft, treasure map, tanking a hunt mob, cutscene, fishing, etc. I'll be submitting tickets to the support desk to advocate change.

And change can be multiple things. A less stringent lockout penalty reset, e.g. rather than 24 hours have it reset after entering a dungeon. A wait button to be added to the instance popup allowing for a player to extend their timer. Or simply remove it all together and tackle the most common reason for people to withdraw from queues to begin with, fishing for an in-progress queue, by adding a "join in-progress only" toggle box.
