Musketeer has been long overdue since 1.0. Even has their own guild in Limsa back then. It was already a dead giveaway when Yoshi did that at the end of show. lol

Depends. I'm hoping the shirt was more to say "our next class is a gun class" rather than this agent thing some have mentioned. If only because it pretty much spells out that it won't be musketeer, since the musketeers within the yellowjackets seem to be just variations on the guys that use axes.

Agent could be cool if reworked a bit to fit this game's play style. I'm still hoping for something along the lines of a gun mage that uses magic-infused bullets and isn't just a gun-wielding variant of black mages, though. If it's a healer, I hope it's chemist. I'm excited to see what happens either way.

I'm 100% certain they have plans on using the Musketeer guild framework that exists in Limsa Lominsa right now (and in 1.0 before it). And having a guild means that Musketeer will be the base class. What we really don't know is what the job will be.

I think people are forgetting that we've been told the class/job system is being redesigned and evident of this is the fact that DRK has NO base class. We can assume that the 2nd and 3rd jobs for the expansion will also have NO base class. I will be very surprised if that is not the case.

Don't be surprised if SE throws away all that musketeer stuff -- it was pretty much a given when they took Marauder off the Astallica and put them in the Coral Tower. Also, the three jobs are most likely going to be the class guilds in Ishgard, not the already existing citystates. We already know this is the case for DRK as Yoshi has said it is unlocked in Ishgard. And it will balance out the citystates, each having 3 guilds.

I'm also on the bandwagon of Yoshi's reference just meaning it's going to use guns as its weapon and nothing more. We are reading too much into it and will have to wait and see.

Except that would piss off more people than the housing debacle, as the playerbase has been teased with the musketeer guild since 1.0. While the whole "DRK having no base class" is cause for concern, I also don't see them retconning a large part of Limsa's gubermental infrastructure. The worst case may be that the musketeer guild is still there, just simply not accessible to players. That would still be a slap to the face to those that have been waiting for musketeer, though.

I really wish anyone doing interviews with the devs between now and the Tokyo Fanfest can ask the devs about this.

"The Man with the Golden Gun" is not 007. "The Man with the Golden Gun" is more or less a hired gun that has an established reputation and track record of killing MI6 agents.
The golden gun itself:

In the film the golden gun was assembled out of nonchalant items such as a golden lighter, a golden cigarette holder, a golden fountain pen and assembled together to make a 'single shot' gun, that fired 'custom made golden bullets.'

Single Shot, special bullets, Corsair possibly musketeer? but a Musketeer is more renowned for their swordsmanship.

You can get where im going with this.


On the other hand, if Yoshi-P is refering to the book, the golden gun was a large caliber "revolver" that "fired custom golden bullets." tied together with he antagonist's description we are looking at a Wild West Outlaw type of guy.
