I think the idea is intriguing. Telling people it's not what we think it's going to be always sort of throws me off.

That sort of leads me down the road where it'll either be a healer in some capacity or a non-traditional gun DD (not just Musketeer) like Gun Mage or...this even. I could see the soil bullets acting in different combinations like the ninjitsu, which would be neat. But I agree it is rather obscure. Still, interesting to think about.

I think yoshi just wanted to wear something that said "gun" for people to get the hint, and 007 was a good choice.

I'm with ya.
I mean, there aren't that many movies with the word "Gun" on the title. From what I can think of, Top Gun and Naked Gun series.
First one having little to no references to guns in general and the second being just a parody film.
Not to mention no other Bond movie with Gun on the title. And my guess he went with Bond is that most if not all people actually know the series, similar to Batman (could've used monty pythons Dark Knight for all I care but not all would know who the character is).

Out of curiosity I would love to hear what the japanese fans are speculating about this. It might be the same but maybe they have some different perspectives. As for OPS idea I think its good speculation albeit not very likely. Who knows tbh, but I do wish they would have given us this at Las Vegas and Dark knight at London. Dark knight was obvious, this hint gives us nothing more than we already knew.

With the power of Google Translate, it seems they are talking about Redmage/Machinist/Chemist/Corsair( or Pirate).
At some points it's unreadable on what people are meaning but those seem to pop up a bit.

Joking aside I had pretty much the same train of thoughts with the "Dark Knight" T-shirt on then revealing the 007 shirt, it's been a while but if I remember right Al-Cid Margrace in Final Fantasy Tactics A2 was the Agent class, used a gun and had a lot of Support abilities and was what my mind sprung to.

Musketeer has been long overdue since 1.0. Even has their own guild in Limsa back then. It was already a dead giveaway when Yoshi did that at the end of show. lol
