Lamias would be a nightmare to try and program and map gear onto. I mean seriously, for every piece of gear there would have to be a radically different "lamia" version. Moogles are in the same boat as Lamias except it's niche market would overlap with lalafells with less detailed gear and no easily definitive genders. I'm not sure if you're thinking of Zidane or not when you're talking about a monkey race, but I fear that it would suffer the same problems that lalafells do and would look way too similar to Miquote players. Speculation of the new race and from what we know about Yugiri, people are thinking that the new race will probably be a spinoff of either Viera, Gria, or Burmecian.

The story of how Yugiri's homeland was practically razed to the ground strikes some similarities with the Burmecians in FFIX, and Yugiri's tail could be a rat tail in addition to the fact that her ears don't really protrude from her hood. Unfortunately though, Burmecians are heavily steeped in Dragoon/Summoner Culture and don't share the same skills set that Yugiri and her tribe are supposed to have.

Viera's are extremely popular with the fan base and while they may have some possible correlation since their job culture revolves around Snipers/Summoners/Assassins, there are a few problems with the theory. Firstly, Vieras do not have tails, and usually have much larger protruding ears than what Yugiri is sporting. This leads die hard fans to believe that it would be a spin-off of a Viera, retaining it's rabbit-like features while having a long tail and smaller ears.

The long shot are the Grias, who don't have the job culture that Yugiri has or the features, but instead has a lot to do with what the expansion is about. Grias are a dragon-like race, which could explain why they were hesitant to show themselves to Eorzeans who really don't have anyone strange other than the Miquote race. The new expansion Heavensward is speculated to be all about the rising dragon threat in the north, which means that having the Gria around could keep them relevant story-wise.

The unfortunate truth about all this is that we just don't know what kind of Race SE has in store for us in the new expansion, and they're probably not even gonna give us a hint until 2.5 comes out, which is probably the pre-expansion patch that will introduce the shift that leads up to the expansion, and gets released 3 weeks before hand.
