In the fanfest live letter they already said they will do upgrade items in final coil so its already half true. You can probably assume the upgrade items are comming in CT3 in 2.5 as well to let casual players catch up.

I definitely like them better than the kooky soldiery sets. They're simple, yet sleek and polished. However, not so much a fan of them rehashing the same upgrade process.
