The fact they are sellin' items that is already out in the game is funny as hell.
Just wait until the next seasonal event starts up. They didn't even have the decency
to add new looking clothes, but fear not, it's coming, watch and see lol.

I personally think they should just sell the items in game for a small amount of gil like they did in xi. This cash shop idea is complete bs when we already have to pay for our subscription. If they do this it will basic be the same as rmt's in a basic sense.
In XI they made past gear for events obtainable by either talking to the npc and buying it or u obtain it depending on which event it was.
That's indeed what they were doing up until this event, in addition to the gear being available afterwards from the Calamity Salvager.I personally think they should just sell the items in game for a small amount of gil like they did in xi. Despite what some confused people might understandably believe, NPCs were placed in previous events that sold gear corresponding to that event from the year before, so the NPC vendor for Halloween last year sold the 1.0 pumpkin heads, the very first summer event NPCs sold the swimsuits from 1.0, the second time this year they sold those, the first 2.0 summer event swimsuits and the 1.0 Yukatas, Xmas NPCs sold the Santa suit and the Reindeer suit from 1.0, horsebird event sold the old dragon helmets, etc.
Disagree.
Your petition does not benefit FFXIV as a whole in any way, shape, or form. Adding past event items to the cash shop *does* benefit XIV as a whole, bringing increased revenues to be used towards improving content and game longevity. How exactly does your proposal outdo this benefit? It seems to me that we would all benefit far more from having these items in the cash shop.
I wouldn't benefit from paying something that I could've had included in my fee at all.
By that logic, why have anything included in the sub but access to the server? Every piece content should be in the cash shop. More revenue and all, right?
I was arounf for the lightning event but sadly couldn't get everything from it. I think I got all the weapons, hair, I cant remember what else I got since I don't have my account active just yet. Debating if I should come back which I'm about 80% sure to doI'm fine with past content being in the cash shop. It allows players who did not attend those past events (due to, for example, not having a powerful enough computer to play the game before?) to get those items without them ultimately piling up and clogging all of the events. One can imagine the All Saints' Wake 2020. Suddenly, there's like 80-something event items and it just gets silly.
It also allows for people who didn't take part in, say... the Lightning Strikes event to get those items without forcing the event itself to come back.
So, by your standard, you go to your favorite food place, for simplicity sake, a burger shop. Get a burger with all your favorite toppings ordered and delivered to your seat; finally take one bite only to have one of the workers take it from you, rip out the toppings, and give back the burger saying it'll be another $3.00 if you want the topppings back. Thats good business practice to you?
What does burgers have to do XIV? Nothing. It's how the practice is being handled. I've already paid for this content by buying the game and subbing for it, and now its being taken back out because they want more money.
I will say, I was a little bummed when the old 1.0 event items were available for sale for like 1 gil. I guess at least with them being cash shop items now it means they're somewhat more exclusive and worth collecting in the first place, while still giving people who desperately want them an option to get them. Why should new players get access to content that they never payed for?
Those of us who played from the start paid for that content through our continued subscriptions, as well as for every piece of event gear for every event after.
Buying it through the cash shop is a valid solution from SE.
What? Stuff like the lightning returns stuff isn't coming back most likely unless through cash shop.
Also your analogy is just garbage. They aren't taking your even items away from your character nor would they take them out of events. Probably an alternative way on how to obtain them while not handing it out for free.
Also something I have noticed is that there a ton of self entitled people who want to be in the special snowflake category rather than thinking that this could help support the devs and game progression for the future from newbies.
