Stop complaining about this already. SE gives free mythologies to those who carry new players through these kind of dungeons, so if they kik you this reward is gone. If you want to see cutscenes and you are kiked, I'm sorry buddy, bad luck, you were matched with a bunch of douches, if you are not kiked but left behind, it's completely understandable, praetorium cutscenes take about 20 minutes you can't really expect 7 random people to sit and wait so that you can enjoy your cutscenes, you talk about respect but that's BEYOND DISRESPECTFUL to my eyes. This is a social game, this isn't a game where you and your cutscenes fall into first place and the rest of stuff have less priority, if you don't understand something basic like this at this point, might as well look for an offline game and enjoy all the cutscenes you want.

I already explained that you are being given tomes because of the newcomers.
The ideal result from a main scenario dungeon, would be that the new player(s) leave with the satisfaction of having enjoyed the story, while the other players leave with 230 tomes and the satisfaction of knowing that they made another player have a good time.

    - You get 100 tomes from the new-player-bonus. This reward is also a result of fresh level 50s that need those dungeons for the story
    - You get 20 tomes from the dungeon itself.

As you can see; you get 210 tomes because of the new players. How can anyone in good concience claim to have earned that reward, when they completely ignore the desires of the newcommers? You are biting off the hand that feeds you, but that hand has no power to bite back.
Why this thread has reached 22 pages is beyond me.
This guy right here nails it, and how anyone could argue with that is beyond me.

Fact is this IS an MMO- meaning interacting with other players is MANDATORY
you get rewards for doing this, and even MORE rewards (not even counting commendations) for helping out newer players
How are the arrogant self-serving people failing to see this?
Abusing the TOS by being disrespectful is in itself, terms for being banned.
Respect each other and get rewarded together. If you hate playing with n00bs, then DONT use DF. Use PF and make your own preformed parties.
How this has to be reiterated a thousand times is beyond me.

How Is it understandable to be left behind? It's not, new players don't get to experience the fights and the storyline because of impatient jerks. When you were a fresh 50 Im sure you wanted to watch your cutscenes, and probably got too as well.

Fact is, the jerks wouldn't even be doing this if it wasn't for the new player bonus, so in turn these new players should at least be given the common courtesy to experience the dungeon in its fullest, that means cutscenes and boss fights... period.

I see a lot of hypocrisy in this thread.

“If players want to watch cut scenes then tell them to make a Party Finder setup!”

“If players want to speed run then tell them to make a Party Finder setup!”

Both sides can do this! Why don’t they?

“Why don’t you go do Party Finder and leave us alone?!”

That is what I am hearing. Well why should one side do it if the other side isn’t even willing to do it? If everyone here is touting about how great Party Finder is, and how you can customize it so you don’t end up with random people who don’t want to play the way you want them too then why doesn't everyone use it??

If it’s so awful to end up with speed runners, or so awful to end up with new players who, god forbid, want to know the bloody story behind what’s going on. Why don’t I see my Party Finder FLOODED with party set ups for what everyone wants to do?! I mean seriously, everyone here is talking about how wonderful, how great; you can play with people who play like you. It must be the bloody oasis in the desert if it’s that good!

Want to know why? It takes time, they sit around, they wait… and obviously people find their time to precious. Everyone here knows this, and they don’t want to have to deal with the wait. So what happens, they blame the other side – why don’t YOU go do this.

As for the “Well we carry them so we can treat them how we want…” comments. Everyone in here on this thread was helped, carried, supported… whatever it is players want to call it. What makes someone who was carried two years ago any more special that someone who was carried two hours ago? Nothing.

It is all a bunch of hypocritical back and forth bull, to help people justify their feelings on treating others like their some lower being, some disease. If people want to keep on going back and forth, trying to justify the mistreatment of players on all sides of the coin, (because don't get it wrong vet's get mistreated too) go ahead. Hope that it makes everyone feel better. Personally all this thread has shown me is that many people in our player base have very low regards for other human beings, and personally I’m appalled.

So go ahead, keep taking about why it’s fine to mistreat others, I’m not going to be involved in such an ugly display of disrespect anymore. I’ll focus on the people in my FC, my friends, and the people I meet in Duty Finder, and hope I can give them a good experience in this game, new or old player. Obviously they need it if they are playing with people like this.

NO ONE should EVER kick anyone for watching CS. Don't tell ppl to watch cs in the book in inn room. You still miss stuff. Let new ppl enjoy the story. I'm a Legacy, and I would never complain about someone wanting to see cs.

You get the extra myth for helping them through the dungeon, not abusing them and rushing them through content.

Also, yes you should always prioritize newer players. Sorry, but their first-time experience and learning takes priority over your iLv100-hardcore-"my time is precious" experience. Just how it is. And that's not just good MMO advice, that's good advice for life. Remember that.

In the long run, by actually showing patience and helping them, you'll be helping yourself. This may come as a surprise, but an MMO is designed to have players rely on EACH OTHER. That means you rely on others as much as they rely on you, despite what you may think. Ever wonder how that lv 45 tank got to lv 45 and is so bad? And now you're running the worst dungeon of your life. Want better players in PvP, or extreme trials, or coils? You'd be amazed how a little kindness and patience goes a long way, and gets paid forward. At all levels.

Can't we all just agree that this community is mostly toxic to new players? All I have to say is I feel sorry for players starting the game now. Stuff like this is commonplace. Not saying everyone is like this, but a vast majority is.

Personally, as others have stated within this thread, we were all new once. I don't mind stopping and waiting. Only issue is while I have no problem, I get left behind as well for trying to show people the way. Least I can do is try to show the new people how to get around the dungeon.

I'm gonna weigh in on this myself here. I think people who kick new players from dungeons for watching cut-scenes are scum. Every single person was a new player at one point, and people on their very first run through, have every right to experience the story as they run the dungeon. And if I ever ended up in a Duty Finder of those, I'd let the group know if they pick on or kick new players for watching a cut-scene, then the group will be down a healer.

Sorry but I personally, will not play with people who abuse the kick system like that. And if it happens the newbie who gets kicked, is the second healer, well then those peoples "speed run" is at an end. Because they'd lose my healing altogether.

    My solution:

Story dungeons should have Boss Fights locked until some sort of Ready Check.

As in, the boss room's wall is up like when 15 secs passed after engaging, except that no one has engaged yet, everyone is still outside. Once a player touches the wall, the "Boss Entrance" cut scene will play and a "ready check" goes off. EVERYONE should confirm the ready check. Obviously, people in a CS cannot accept or decline it, they should not even see it! (as to not mess up their cut scene).

The same should apply with any other room with CS. Like, if there is another CS after defeating a boss, the exit to the next room will be locked until everyone "Ready checks".

I'm aware this will feel bothersome, to be readychecking every 5 mins, but if you are a veteran, sure you have the "Skip already watched CS" checked, so all you have is a box asking you if you are ready to continue, which everyone will promptly click.
It's only when there is a new player that the CS will play and you will have to wait.

And if you are of those that say "My time is too precious and I should not be made to wait", I'm sorry, but is the newbie's right to watch the CS on his first playthrough. You already had your chance, and if you choose to skip CS, that was your decision. If this new player wants to watch cutscenes on his first time thru the dungeon, he has the right to watch it and not be kicked or left behind because of it. Period.
