Even if it's default for people on your friend list to have access, even with everyone else not allowed in, that'd be fine... I mean, it's cool if your friends come to visit right? It would be nice if you can set permissions for them to use house functions though too, but I somehow doubt Aetheryte would be available except in Eternal Bonding... because I don't know how they would handle having multiple private housing aetherytes in the teleport menu

I really don't think it'd be that difficult (I don't know though).

If I could only pick one feature I'd want, the teleport sharing would be it, because honestly, who is going to go through the hassle of manually going to your house's district under normal circumstances? Having a little list of 'other' aytherytes and being able to set who on your friendslist can use yours would be great.

This is were the difference in free company and personal housing is, Only you can do whatever you want to your house. If you want a house with your friends make a free company :| it really is that simple.

Let's assume we use our friend list to assign privilege like how you currently do for FC house. Since there is no rank system in friend list (e.g. best friend, hi-bye friend). You can only assign the particular privilege to all or none of your friend.

Privileges1: Using stable = OK
Privileges2: Plant and harvest garden = Dangerous
Privileges3: Decorating house, removing furniture, change exterior = Dangerous
Privileges4: Setting access rights to my house = Dangerous

Most of us have large friend list that has people we called friend but not enough to trust our entire house to them. I don't hand my house key to my friend in r/l either.

So to make this work in the current system, I will have to remove most of my friends.

Or SE needs to setup some kind of ranking system that allows me to categories all my friends and assign them different privileges so we could share our resources. But I think that's called setting up a Free Company.

I'd like to be able to set more specific permissions, as well (individual, party, friends list, LC, etc).

Anything is better than the current "Anyone or No One" implementation

At a bare minimum I would like to have a white list option for who can enter my House. Even a simple "No one", "Everyone" or "friends only". Would be better than current system.

It's not that simple actually, you can only be a part of one free company - that's it. Giving up your actual free company in order to manipulate the housing system into doing something it ought have been a feature to do in the first place is simply not an option for the majority of players.
We can only keep discussing this in hopes that the developers make it so. And honestly, if I'm expected to buy the same house as a free company, for the same amount of gil as a free company, in the same ward as a free company... then the house should behave the exact same as one owned by a free company in all retrospects.

Right, you were not asking for a FC House without association with a FC,
In fact it should be a house that is more flexiable than a FC house. ^^;

So why not suggest implement "Personal Company",
let every Personal House owner get a FC-liked menu to manage their house,
the member/permission setting would become friend/permission settings.

Moreover, personal company credit/action could be added as well,
by doing this, personal company crest aslo will be available! Good?
