This game really doesn't need voice chat. It just makes it easy. When trying to join groups on PF have you tried talking with the people that are running them to see if they take you even without voice chat? Also might I ask how come you lack access to voice chat? No pc/android/apple device that you could run the client on?

I ask those people if it's ok. I even link proof, but they still say no. As for devices, I was fine on PS3. Spent money to upgrade to PS4 for PS4 chat, but not many use it. PS4 plus an iPhone 5C that later was damaged was already enough money spent to get into content. I....just can't spend anymore; I pay my bills solo.

Stop feeling sorry for yourself. This looks like a "poor me" thread. You obviously have money, buying a PS4 a new iPhone. If I was strapped for cash wondering how to pay my bills solo, I would not be buying a PS4 or new iPhone. Enough with the excuses, either just leave or don't. If you stay I would find new friends because based on what you said, they don't seem too like you very much.

I refuse to use teamspeak but can and will use mumble or ps4 chat if requested - not that I ever have been.

I see the occasional group with a TS requirement in the PF but those tend to be rare and far between on cerberus. Have you considered checking out other worlds? Maybe start a low level char and check the PFs through the day to see what people are asking for?

our FC & static doesnt use TS & have T9 on farm

TS can improve performance i agree

but cant beat content without TS is a bullshit

As others have said, this game does not require voip. Voip makes stuff easier...but you can play the game just fine, and progress just fine, without it.
Sorry you have had such bad luck with it tho!

There is a small bit of truth in this. You can get a really cheap and crappy pc or laptop for as little as 20-50 dollars depending on where you are. matter of fact, looking on craigslist, people are literally GIVING AWAY pcs for FREE that are capable of running ts. if you really cant afford that, then you probably cant afford to pay a subscription for ffxiv. you need to focus on bills more.

OP just literally spent almost a grand on expensive hardware. not having ts access is unacceptable, and someone that cares that little about his gameplay experience is detrimental to my gameplay experience.

Maybe a little, but tbh, I have been literally homeless, living at the salvation army homeless shelter, and still had TS access, which was my lifeline(and quite another story). OP has admitted to having an ffxiv subscription, and having bought hardware beyond that. heck, if you live in the US, you can go to a public library and get ts access.
