TIL people still do main storyline roulette.

I just finished my first playthrough a couple of nights ago and i was forced to skip all cutscenes in the last dungeon, souring my experience. My excitement with finally able to finish the main scenerio was ruined by impatient players who all say "just watch the cutscenes in the inn." And when we started, i did say i was new and this was my first time, but it doesn't matter.

I think this is too funny.
What was suppose to be a tool to help out newbies, does nothing but give new players with bad tastes in their mouths from this game and it's community that sucks butt.
Meh this community is one of the worst I've come across anyways so to be expected at this point in time.
the community is bad because they are allowed to be that way, there are no sanctions for such attitudes, thus they are passively encouraged.
At one point, you cant blame those that do what they are allowed to do, by the words of SE themselves that do not mix into palyer's quabbles, even if it is blattanly in total contradiction with their own ToS. I am sorry but truely the real problem is the management itself that sanction for a poorly made wording on the boards but do not sanction players for forbidding other players to enjoy the game when they do it in total respect of the rules vs those that do not do it in total respect of the rules.
When rules are in place and those that set them into place cant have them be respected, there is nothing good that can come out from it and leads to a poisonned community. Remove the kick tool and start punishing those that cant behave withina community with the decorum requested and I guarantee you that the poisonned community will turn fast into a very nice community.

For future references, SE, please leave all the cs's to the start and then at the end. This way when we're all trapped in the starting area we wait for them to watch the cs since the game won't allow us to move forward forcing us to wait, and then at the end when we kill the last boss they can watch the cs all they want, we're all leaving anyway.
Doesn't that make more sense? Shouldn't every other event in between be shown right there with npc characters instead of cs's?
They should have thought ahead of time and know this would become tedious after having to come back to farm for tomes.
Just saying...
And honestly, would it hurt newbie players who want to watch cs's so badly to make a party instead? Why don't you use party finder and make a "watch cs's party". Why do you have to use duty finder and then complain that the veteran players who did the instance a billion times have to wait for your petty desire to watch cs's during a time limited instance with people who have separate lives and priorities.
Isn't it a little selfish considering you can always watch the cs's a billion times over at your inn?
You get what you look for, and DF is filled with players farming for tomes. So you really got 2 choices...
A-Make a party and be happy
B-Use DF and stop complaining
These arguements are flawed. The new player shouldn't be inconvenienced for your convenience; they should be respected as what they are - a new player, who deserves full right to enjoy the game as you do. The moment those come into contradiction, I think that some discussion should be made to create positive lines of communication between the Cutscene watcher and the Speedrunners.
For example, "Hey, we'd like a quick run. When you're done with the CS, listen to what we say and we'll get to the boss quicker." and then guide the player through the process. You do understand, even if you were to have him skip the CS's for your convenience, he wouldn't be much help since he'd probably have no idea what's going on, right? I mean, how many new players know to skip the first set of mobs and interact with the panel instantly?
Try to be a part of a solution instead of just thinking that your needs come before everyone elses.
Also, take into consideration, that the storyline goes Story -> Boss. There's a feeling of continuity that is broken from watching those cutscenes inside your moghouse. If you do that, it makes it feel broken and disjointed. "Oh, I remember that now! So that's where the ultima weapon came from. and THAT'S why the entire arena was on fire. and THAT'S why we were fighting the creepy black robed guy!" It's like basically reading the chapters that only have fight scenes in a book, then going back and reading -why- they were in those fight scenes.
Edit-in: Character limit.

why do you think i skipped all the cutscenes on my first playthrough? Because there is no winning an argument with the veteran players, even if i was in a party with 6 out 8 players were okay with me watching the cutscenes since it was my first time. The whole time, the two who wanted to just speed run keep arguing and talking crap to the point i said screw it, i give up. The excitement for me was done and i just wanted to get it over with. So yeah, SORRY FOR BEING THE SELFISH NEWBIE FOR WANTING TO HAVE A GOOD EXPERIENCE AND ENJOY THE STORY. I guess most people forget that they were once new as well.

"Petty". If you want to know what that word -actually- means I suggest you go look in a mirror. And honestly, would it hurt newbie players who want to watch cs's so badly to make a party instead? There are a million ways to earn myth nowadays. I'm so freaking bored with both those dungeons that I don't even run them. If you're that bored with them, I suggest you do the same. And honestly, would it hurt newbie players who want to watch cs's so badly to make a party instead?
