I hope for SE's sake, that they never consider putting anything related to FFVII in anything else. Let the damn game die.

Yes! That would be almost as awesome as when Lightning mused aloud at her seemingly endless dimensional travel & vanished in a puff of phoenix down, then giving us all clothes, weapons & Snow bandannas.

I'll never say no to any fanservice content being added, although in this instance I wouldn't be overly excited about it.
Only mounts I'd like to see added are:
Raptor
Tortoise (especially if it spins like the minion)
Allagan Tech Mount (dreadnought?)
Marlboro
Sand worm
Would also like to see baby behemoth as a mount for lalas![]()

Recently Yoshida made example that Aries would be possible to see*, so I don't think FF7 is off limits at all - just dangerous because there will be a number of people (as seen in this thread) who would -not- like to see FF7 fan service. Although Yoshida also mentioned that, he knows some people will go nuts and love the fan service and others will absolutely hate it lol.
*Possible - not confirming, but possible.

Cloud was an emo loser and Sephiroth was a whiney mamas boy. At least Kefka destroyed the world half way through FFVI, what did Seph do? Nothing.
Also, Lightning's event was already pushing it, don't need more obnoxious crossovers that make no sense with the games lore. How the hell would Cloud end up on Eorzea anyway? FFVII had no dimension hoping in the lore.

It was mentioned in Live letter XVII
it isnt in the official translation here on lodestone, but in the broadcast he gave examples of characters from other titles that could make an appearance, that characters that died wouldnt show up, but that for example aerith could appear since her "essence" is still in the lifestream, he also alluded to Shadow.
The FFVII bahamut opened an atheric portal with the jenova power tethered to the FFXIV bahamut in the Third Umbral Era, thus pulling the life forces of Cloud & Co, into present day Eorzea, with the space and the time & the pew pew lasers.
Also, Carbuncle.

My shoddy transcription of the part you can find in the 52 minute long interview:
Q: We did a survey which FF game that you would like to see in FF- result was not clear as everyone wanted to see everyone except lightning. Will we see any other characters? (Yoshida laughed and is smirking lol).
Y: I do get similar questions often, what I can say is that before having a “particular” character in the game we will bring costume of that “particular” character in the game, I can’t say from what game of course. If there is a character that has died in a previous FF, they will not appear in FFXIV. I think that will disappoint players worldwide because we would be changing their stories dramatically, I don’t want to destroy any beautiful memories. However, talking about Aries- she may appear (she has life stream afterlife back up story so it makes sense). Also even though I really like Shadow from FF6, so for those mysterious ending characters and how they ended I won’t be ruining them either (for characters that were left with a special ending). Other than those characters, if it makes sense and from scenario point and if they can go back to their world then it may happen- we are considering bringing other characters in.. I can’t tell who yet, I’m sure whoever I bring in there will be some who love it and others who hate it.
Q: Like lightning, laughs.
Y: Laughs.
I think Gralna mentions the other location but I forgot when/where to find that so I'm just using what I can point out for sure lol

And Kuja destroyed (not put it into ruin, but actually destroyed it. No longer exists) an entire planet. Granted, it's not the one the heroes live on, but it's still more than what Kefka could do (and he didn't become a God, just used Ultima). He did almost destroy Gaia as well, when he destroyed the Crystal, which is the heart of the world. Much like Hydaelyn.
Anyway, Cloud was far from emo. While even I agree that FFVII is overrated, for most of the game, he was a pretty jolly guy.
