1.18 combat changes, yey or ney.

Im gonna explain how i see it in a few words.

It feels like a very unpolished yet prettier FFXI.

It needs sooo much work.Sooo much balancing.

Regardless i feel Is a step on the right direction.

While im really disappointed with how lite polish this patch delivered, the "feel" i get when battling is a completely different game pre 1.18.
I can say ill stick around a bit longer(but please for the love of god, start polishing this game, there is so much quality lacking)

All this is,of course, my opinion regarding battle changes in 1.18.

I like it. I think it's working great so far.

Yoshida already said weeks ago that this would still be rough around the edges. The polish will be applied over the course of the next several patches.

    I like it

Keep in mind that this is just the most basic form of the AA system and SE has tried to stress this as much as possible. A lot of people have mixed feelings about it because of how unpolished it is, but they do need to keep in mind that it is, again, just the basic groundwork of a much more complex AA system.

I think its better to give us something rather than make us wait a few more months for ANY changes. I agree it needs work but hopefully the updates come a little quicker now,

Making a shoe can take days, even weeks.

    Polishing a shoe takes minutes.

And with it in this rough form, it makes it easier for SE to tweak it based on what they see and what we say (hopefully more the former than the latter).

I like it to, but i prefer to be objective and leave my fan hat at home when expressing my opinion.
Im fairly relived, but i like to say things as they are.

This is the start and they said they will tweak it later.

For what I see so far I give it a thumbs up.

I really liked the flow of FFXI, and I understand that this is just the start of trying to hybrid into something similar.
However, being solely a controller player, I found it extremely difficult to play and kinda ruined my fun for the evening.
I slowly got better at it, but it just felt like I was working extra hard to do simple things which were easy to me before. Like knowing if I'm even engaged or not.

Yes, I know there's an icon for that - but when there's 10 mobs in party massed around you its hard to see the tiny thing in the heat of battle. It would have been nice to have an engage button that locked you onto the target. Maybe in a future adjustment.

On a positive note, I was able to chat to my linkshell and party! Haha.
