SE got lazy and probably didn't bother to make something new for personal housing.

As a last resort, they simply made FC houses buyable by individuals.

I'm guessing they don't have a way to separate housing prices without creating new zones. Since new housing zones + wards cost time and money to make, they simply opened FC housing for individual purchase with hopes it buys them enough time to come up with proper housing zones+wards for private homes, or find another way to implement housing for individuals. I was thinking they'd use the concept behind private chambers in FC houses for this by implementing something like apartments or a sort of barracks.

Not too bothered by it, since I'm hoping for an Ishgard housing zone sometime in the future. Can hold out until then. >.>

My faith in SE just disappeared if this is the personal housing that was promised.I say if cuz the patch notes only say housing not personal housing but 1 person being able to by plots leads me to believe yes THEY DROPPED THE BALL ON PERSONAL HOUSING!!! Imagine how frustrating it'd be to finally get funds & chance as a Free Company to get your housing plot... and some multi-millionaire swoops in and drops the gil snagging your spot... for personal use.

I'd seriously recommend you save it. For the price they're asking you better damned well be certain your account won't ever become inactive for a certain period of time. Because according to the way they're doing personal housing it likely follows the same rules of a FC house. After so many days of inactivity they'll rip it out from under you. By the way on the subject of prices did they ever deny the rumors or speculation prices were going to be around 850K?

I'm just curious if anyone ever went back and said "We're sorry, housing will be more than this." or sit by idly and let players assume it was going to be around this price range.

EDIT: By the way something else to consider. After you buy your plot of land you'll probably be looking at another 2 million getting even the most basic of furnishings and that doesn't include the pricing for getting the foundation and building assembled. I think after my FC finally afforded our plot of land we had to spend another 3 million to get the place built and assembled.

I'm not going to rage, I'll just take my hard-earned RW money and cancel my sub. I suggest anyone else that is extremely disappointed in this news follow my lead. I'm tired of wasting my money on a developer who consistently disappoints and cuts-corners with content.

Yes, I've been dealing with their crap since the beginning of 1.0. I just love (note: dripping with sarcasm) how they always choose to implement things in a way that has glaringly obvious issues; and only struggle to find a solution after floundering in the shit hole.

Been waiting since 2.0 for personal housing, only to receive a slap in the face with these crazy prices all over again. Totally regretting renewing with a 180-day subscription last week, thinking to support SE. At least it'll last me till expansion. Gonna cancel my automatic renewal later.
