Looking at these wip photos making me more excited! ^.^ My weekend was spend material shopping and pattern making.
This is what I did, the coat I've been dreading to make. The main fabric will be micro-suede so I had to be safe and did it the right way. Making a mistake will cost a lot >.< It is the cheaper alternative to actual suede but it's still more than I expected to spend for it. Darn you cosplay! *Shakes fist*

@Eclipse
of course :> I like showing before and after tho! I'll also show a picture of me in the cosplay all put togetherThanks for the support <3
oooo I did the same thing. I usually don't bother to do a mock up first but I bought myself some real leather this time and didn't want to risk screwing it up :s Cosplay cost is no joke. Decided to go the cast resin route for my gold and silver pieces; lots of fun but not inexpensive. Are you gonna but a pillow in the butt or will it stay up by itself :3Looking at these wip photos making me more excited! ^.^ My weekend was spend material shopping and pattern making.

An another note, I can totally see what that is and it looks fantastic! I require pictures at FF![]()

Do you think Friday during the start of the event will be enough stuff going on to put all my Cosplay stuff on or do you guys think it'll be purely registration? In which probably not worth getting into the gear just to stand in a reg. line?
From what I understand right now, it is purely registration, but that's probably a good thing. Then you can wander around the hotel and take pictures and not worry about events to go to![]()

My plan is to hopefully meet up with as many other Cosplayers on Friday as I can for group shots before the hustle and bustle of the event.
Edit: We should plan something. Like a Photo Op. During or shortly before / After Registration for an hour or two at least. Maybe get someone to hold our places in line so we can pose and the like.

fack yes... cept I may probably be out of place since I'll be a non FF14 character... BUT I'm a Final Fantasy one nonetheless :> Really excited to meet all of you. Especially since I'm going alone to this, my first convention, alone... GHGHGNG ; - ;

Leather and fur are a few materials one should not risk screwing up. When it's quite costly I'm so scared to handle it. oOo I haven't tried to mess with resin even though I have like the stuff on my shelf collecting dust loloooo I did the same thing. The skirt does have a pillow. I normally make/use only one bustle pad with Victorian dresses but with this one I made like four (Two middle back and one on each hip). It was an alternative than making the caged crinoline, something that I still have to learn to make.
