I stay because the people I met in 1.0 .. I love them, being with them.

It's not as easy to stay close to your friends in 2.0 as 1.0 because the game's environment has changed into "you can do (most) anything by yourself" that and the endless gearing every 3 months has warn me out because I dont want to just be one job. I really could care less about the nods to FFIV and stuffs. But in the end If it wasnt for the people I found in 1.0. I probably would've left a while ago.

You aren't pointing out something original or new, people have been complaining about this since launch and its getting boring.

And you could have afforded to at least type out the game's name/number correctly at least once.

Don't waste your time, i have had this debate with those type of people many times, they refuse to accept it this isn't a clone. no matter what you tell them, they have it stuck in their head. Most don't seem to understand the difference between an inspiration and a clone. so they will keep throwing "but yoshi said it!" aka they only read what they want to read, they refuse to accept it. save your sanity.

Im still wondering how people can play MMOs if they dont like the battle system, nothing in the world could let me keep on playing a MMO, if the battle system bothers me.

I started playing this game because my (now current) roommate showed me the "New Beginnings" trailer on youtube and I was all like "I want that...."
The first three months of this game I played after launch were awesome. There was a decent enough amount of stuff to do, and new stuff is still coming out with every patch. I wish certain things (player housing for example) would've been included a little closer to launch day but that's my opinion. No such thing as the perfect game lolz

As for the future, I don't intend to give up this game anytime soon. I've always loved the FF games and have played most of them. As long as what I can only describe as "that Final Fantasy feeling" remains with the game, I'll stay. Currently i'm looking foward to the Golden Saucer -- been hearing some good things about the Triple Triad game they're bringing in. I've been begging for a card game for months lolz

But on topic, looks are what games are about.I am still unsure how long i will actually stay subscribed tho. but it's mainly due to simply liking how it looks.

I don't know what is with the unhappy people that feel like they must get everyone to be unhappy like them. Makes no sense at all. There are plenty of options out there. Play what you like. All this kind of complaining is doing no good, and I doubt it makes the complainer any happier. Perhaps they just want to find other complainers, like the way misery likes company. But heaven forbid the reality of other players that are happy and having fun, because then it is no fun the complainer's echo chamber.

Ugh. It's not that people are denying that FFXIV has lots of similarities to WoW. This is very true.

You can't critique something because it has similarities to something else. You can't reinvent the wheel each time. This is how we invent something better each time. This is called creating something successful. Every time Ford builds a car, do you think that they scrap everything the automobile industry has been doing for the last century?

If FFXIV were close to identical to World of Warcraft, then yes, there would be an issue. But the reality is that FFXIV is more than enough its own game that this argument is just stupid and should go away already.

It is true that the game is SLOWLY treading away from being a WoW clone, but its going to take a lot more for it to be "its own game" as you say but these latest updates have been steps in the right direction. Though front lines reminds me a lot of one of WoW's PVP modes, it can't be helped given the fact that the PVP mode model has been used over and over by countless MMOs. I think your confusing this topic for a "This is a WoW rip!" rager when in fact, that was merely a moot point that I made.
