Sorry my friend but 3 hours is not farming fates, that's introduction to fates. Go harder longer, I only have three but I'm not complaining, time my friend time and patience.

I agree, having a low RNG rate for Atma's is ridiculous. You could theoretically be there forever and not have the luck of getting all your pieces. They should have had a system that insures that you will get your atma even with your terrible luck with the RNG.
Post has been edited to clarify the fact that it was only THAT attempt which had been 3 (actually 5) hours.

40 hours farming Central Shroud without a single Atma drop. 10 hours in South Than, 10 in Mid La Noscea. 12 times I have seen someone walk into a fate with 10% to go to clear and they walk out with an Atma, while I've received none. Eventually I just stopped, and started doing better things with my time that have more meaningful progression than a minor stat boost. In the same amount of time it took me to farm for nothing, I could have leveled botany and mining to 50.
I get that determination = perseverance, but playing the lottery is not enjoyable, especially when it's with my valuable time. I work full time, go to college part time, and don't have the kind of spare time to waste 60 hours doing something with nothing to show for it.
And that's just the first part. Even after getting all the Atma you still need to complete however many books for it, and that is a huge timesink in itself.

I mistakenly wrote 3 hours, it was actually 5 hours according to her, i lost track of the hours we'd spent in that zone as near the end i was micro-catnapping through half the fates.
Exactly.

Exactly this.
The atma system is not fair, it is not equal, and utilising 'Luck' in a gear progression quest is ludicrous.

Too bad mods here don't have fun with changing titles in threads when they're deemed silly. This would be great to change it to "ATMA the worst thing ever made on A Realm Reborn you can reasonably get done in 14 hours".
Wrong.
RNG is fair, it affects the same across the board. Just because someone else is hitting the right random algorithm, doesn't mean they aren't in the same ATMA boat as you. RNG is about as fair as anything can get, it's random no matter who you are.
