weekly lockouts are in place to keep people playing and slowing the allotment of gear.

i would rather have them split up the release of content vs a weekly lockout.

    ex.
    2.2 brought turns 6-9.
content the devs would like to last the 6 months until the next set of turns.

however, if 2.2 was turns 6 & 7 and 2.3 was turns 8 & 9 (all without a lockout) then i believe it could work for both players and developers.
take the first few weeks getting the content down. begin farming for your particular group, then spread the wealth.
and within no time a new patch with a new set of turns to tackle would be available.

LMAO u blaming us for u "NOT" progressing GG here's a tip if u really want to try and push content y not put in the time and form your own static if u cant find 1. I know its a hard task by itself I know i use to replace pugs everyweek for T1-5 progress till we had the perfect group and from there on it was smooth sailing. My team and I right now are just providing a service to players that (A) Gave on on trying to pug coil and just want loot and clear and (2) Players like crafters who have alot of gil and just want the clear and loot lol. If there are players that will throw out 40-60mil for 6-9 everyweek y should i not try to capitalize on such on goldmine b4 it crashes come 2.4 and t6-9 is on Duty Finder and prices tank lol. Also if u get fed up trying to find a "Static" and u looking to buy hit me up in-game :P....

That's the one reason why I wish there wasn't a player lockout system. Back in my old FC (we merged), myself and two other friends were the only active members who could do Second Coil. Our previous static dissolved for one reason or another and we kinda just did our own things for a couple of months. Then out of the blue my two friends get invited to a static, beat T6 (they're now able to get to T9) and I'm just... well, massively jealous (I already talked to them about it and I'm a lot less spiteful now, but the jealousy will always remain). I've still yet to beat T6 :/

If they're worried about selling runs, they should just ban them.

But really who cares if someone got his gear because he was carried or not. Allow people to help each other and train together!

A lot of the players that buy runs AREN'T wealthy, they're gill buyers, which is precisely why SE doesn't want to encourage the practice.

Here's the thing though. The skill gap between players is so great that there's no such thing as training or helping each other. Skilled people will always want to group together with each other so they can clear content fast. The only time they will go back and "help" is when they have cleared the entire raid, making it pretty much a carry.

What if it's just six people needing the win, with two extras who already got the win assisting. Those two people can explain what their static does as well as point out what someone might be doing wrong or what they could improve on. I also highly doubt two people could carry (which I see as people KO'd for majority of the fight and learning NOTHING) six people through a Second Binding Coil Turn.

OR, what if it's a static needing to replace someone (who knows what to do) for one day and then going back to do the raid for that one person who couldn't make it due to life obligations. You're happy, your static is happy and the guy who couldn't make it is happy.

It's highly unlikely that the first scenario will happen speaking from personal experience. People will skip whatever mechanics they can just to win the fight. Just look at T2 enrage as an example. What will likely happen is that the group that cleared will take 6 members and carry 2 others at a time, 3 runs in total so all 6 members get the win. As an example, last night one of our members couldn't make it so we offered to bring a new guy in for T6-9 and teach him the fight but he rather stay dead on the floor just to get the clear.

If it's 7:1 yeah, but 1-2 experienced people? I am training for t5 right now and sometimes people who already cleared it join my training parties anyway. They have been a tremendous help but still, a couple of people alone can't beat Twintania for me, but they can help pace the encounter if you need to get practice on a particular mechanic.
