These type of players only give the community a bad name. It doesn’t matter which class they play.
But, Tanks like that actually make me “glad” that i’m playing as a tank myself, since i would stick around till either the dungeon is finished or the timer runs out. I would only queue up for a dungeon when i’m sure that would be able to clear it within the remainder of the time given. Even if it will take almost an hour to clear it. I once had a 58 Minute Titan Story Mode Trail, because there 3 new people in that group who had never done Titan at all and i made sure that they got that clear. There was no swearing involved, just giving them tips on where to stand and what to look out for.
If i only have about 20 to 30 minutes left, i won’t bother queueing up unless i’m helping friends and/or Linkshell/Free Company members.
Through out my MMO history, i’ve always been playing the support class. If you would’ve asked me a year ago if i would level a tank, i’d say “Aww, hell no!”. But, pretty early into 2.0 i noticed that we had a severe lack of Linkshell and Free Company Members who played a tanking class. So, in order to help out a friend, i leveled a tank as well.
Now, we basically duo tank content like the Extreme Primals and Coil (having a blast doing it together), but i’m also tanking 90% of my play time. I’ll tank everything till the end, even if it’s a Low Level Roulette (or more technical dungeons like Aurum Vale) where there are 3 new people in the group.
Everyone has to get their clear someday, why not help them get it right now?
The thing that annoys me the most is when people do not show any kind of respect or patience towards others, only play for themselves, leave at the first sight of something that doesn’t go their way and/or go to great lengths to ruin the experience/fun of others.
You’ve only started playing this game? Fine, i’ll take it easy.
You’ve just unlocked this class? Fine, i’ll give you some pointers.
This is your first time in the dungeon? Fine, i’ll run you through it.
You want to rush to the end, because it’s boring or you don’t have enough time? Well, are there new people in the group? Then, <Thanks for the offer, but i’ll have to pass.> Getting the clear (smoothly) is more important than the time in which it is cleared.
