    I've Got It! (Re: Edda)

So, Yoshida's on record saying he wants to give Edda and her story a happy ending? Well here's an idea:

Remember Hab? The loveable (?) lonely zombie out in the desert? Well, since Edda's into dead guys (too soon for that joke?), why not Hab? Perhaps he can meet up with a certain Manderville Man or the rest of the Dapper Undead and refine himself a bit? And no one truly knows whether Edda's alive or dead currently, but as long as she doesn't go all Amandine/Halicarnassus on us, perhaps she may yet find love again with another NPC who also deserves a little happiness.

    What do you think?

That idea is cute and I support it!

... unfortunately I don't see Edda getting back on the right track for now. The only 'happy' ending I can see happening right now is one where she regains her senses long enough to realize the mistakes she made and find peace in her own death. Because sadly, I do expect her to go Halicarnassus. But your idea makes me want to see Edda & Hab happen!

I like this idea actually, anything to keep her from becoming some super deadly boss that you have to destroy before she blow the party into bits with her laser eyes.

I do want her to have a true, happy ending. This might be a cute way to do it.

I have to disagree with a happy ending. This game needs something horribly depressing, scary, creepy, and morbid. The story of Edda is perfect the way it is, not everything can have a happy ending. It would be vastly disappointing to me to see a happy ending out of nowhere for her.

I dare say we already have enough things that are happy-go-lucky

I would like it more if we did things that we thought was right and ended up being evil in return. Dark Souls example: Killing Quelaag, yeah you killed a boss cause she attacked you first. But your in her domain, and your have an abundance of humanity to heal her ill sister, yet you kill her. And too add to the feel trip if you have a certain ring the ill sister thinks your Quelaag.

    We need more of this!

Yeah I am inclined to agree. Her story is interesting because her fall and growth into a formidable villain.

I actually disagree with this for your same reason. I think we've already got plenty of sad quests. It would be nice if we could save Edda from the darkness she has fallen into.

I don't know a lot of sad quests, but the few I do know end up being happy in the end. My greatest example of a cop-out was Thancred. The story would have been better with him if he was a flat out villain not mind controlled. I don't wanna see that done with Edda, that would be boring.

Well, off the top of my head: There's the time The Waking Sands gets infiltrated and they kill most of the Scions. Haukke Manor, the guy sends us in hoping we can save his mistress but we end up having to kill her. (Not to mention the whole back story to that dungeon is just plain creepy) The first time we face Ifrit there are a bunch of innocent people who are 'tempered' and we are forced to kill them because there's no known way to reverse the processes. Throughout most of the story people are being kidnapped and murdered to help summon the primals.

I think her "death" is probably the happiest ending for her. Its a shame, I liked her. Especially since I started the game as a conjurer.

She'll probably return probably as a voidsent.
