Trials of the Braves Eorzean text

When completing the Trials of the Braves (i.e. atma books/sphere scrolls), the menu that comes up showing you which FATEs/dungeons/mobs etc you need to complete has Eorzean script along the top of the background image. So far I have decoded):

In an era long since ended
When chaos reigned o'er all the land
(Did)* valiant souls take up the fight
To bring forth Light and cast out Dark
They numbered Twelve, no more nor less

*the word Did is partially hidden, but it definitely begins with capital D, so this is presumed correct

My questions are:

1. Are there any other lore sources identified that can fill in the gaps and put this in a bigger context, such as following verses? Failing that, do any other weapons have text/images in locations that reveal what was hidden by the foreground objects for my Thyrus book?

2. I assume its probably the same for all weapons, but can anyone confirm this? I took it from my Thyrus, so anyone upgrading a weapon other than that could help here. (additional searching seems to show its the same not just for weapons, but on the sphere scrolls as well as atma books. any similar menus for later stages past novus to be introduced, I'd be glad to have anyone share those with me)

Eorzean is essentially a different font of English, even in 1.0. The OP even has the fonts that you can go see. Some of the letters are difficult to tell, but for the most part it's straight forward.

The sphere scroll contains the same text, shifted slightly to give a better read of the pieces that were obscured before. Your transcription seems right on, so far, aside from over being o'er and no more, no less being no more nor less. I think you'll get that last section about taking up the fight in no time. I wonder what it means...

Oh I'll have to check the sphere scrolls then, I haven't actually reached that phase yet because I have a low tolerance for the grind, so it hadn't even crossed my mind yet. :P

BUT there's Google which has handily given me a glimpse at it, and it does look like it might give me that main missing section, I've got to take the time to load it up in Photoshop and fool around with the contrast, etc. As an aside, I noticed the text in the circular pattern is also Eorzean script, with the main ones going radially outward apparently just being the various names of the materia types/stats on the weapon (oddly they seem to be mixed, as there's Savage Aim, but also Determination instead of Savage Might...). Good chance the smaller text is also Eorzean, but very hard to read @.@

And I see the question of how to read the Eorzean is already covered, but in case anyone still doesn't see where to find the fonts mentioned, link is in my signature.

That's a very interesting tidbit of information, Myranda.

It sounds much like the Twelve Archons of the Hatching-tide event.

Haven't got around to it yet, no. Busy time of year.

I will say though I have no doubts in my mind it's simply related to the Zodiac Braves (12 warrior for the 12 zodiac signs, etc). So it's probably just meant to be a snippet of the actual story text inside the Trials of the Braves books.

Finally took a look today. Got a few more words (or at least what I think they are) of the 3rd line, "valiant souls", but there's still one short word at the beginning that I can't quite get due to an icon/text blocking it. It can't be more than 2 or 3 letters though unless by some bizarre reason that line and that line alone wasn't left-justified to the same position as the rest...

As far as the text of the sphere scroll image itself, I tried but it's just too small/blurry from the images I can find on the Googles. Best I can provide there is that the radial text that I mentioned before as being the secondary stats/materia are in order starting from 12 o'clock and moving clockwise:
