My hubby gave the best answer when I asked him. He said Ewitt Rainbow. lol
Commendations.
If I play dps I only give it out to other dps.
If I play tank I only give it out to healers.
If I play healer I only give it out to tank.
Only if they should be getting a commendation.
There are always exceptions to the rules!
Fran from XII also Balthier. Such a great pair ^^

In an effort to avoid spoilers, I'll try to keep this as vague as possible, while people who've played the game will know who I mean. They wouldn't be major spoilers but I still wouldn't want to ruin any surprises as to this character's personal secrets (which you find out very early in game anyhow).
The purple haired pirate captain from FFV:
I mainly just liked their relationship with their crew. I've always loved pirates (Limsa forever!) and those guys were loyal and loving even when they found out new things about their captain. There's a mutual trust and love there that I really admire. Many bosses rule through intimidation, giving rise to mutiny should the opportunity present itself, but even if these guys saw their captain in a moment of weakness they'd defend that captain with their life. The fact that the captain didn't consider their crew to be objects but rather friends is very nice ^_^ Still wouldn't be walked all over but I think you guys know what I mean.

My favorite is Lightning, hands down.
Reason being, she's not your typical FF female, she was strong, independant and, well, human. The game started out and she had walls up, which slowly came down as the game progressed. We all have our own walls we keep up to protect ourselves and she was really no different. I know a lot (ok most) people will laugh at this, but I think she's had an amazing amount of development from XIII through to Lightning Returns. We've watched her go from punching Snow in the face for saying he was going to protect her sister, to her fighting tooth and nail to protect and save HIM so he can keep that promise
That being said XIII in general is my most appreciated story in FF, because it as I said, just felt the most "human" to me. In my eyes, it was never about saving the world and achieving some grand scheme and being heroes. The game was about them living. Saving themselves, making up for the mistakes they've made, and finding their own redemption, not as heroes for everyone to revere, but in one another, Lightning and Snow, Fang and Vanille, and even Hope, when the game started, he was that typical young teen, he spoke about his dad not caring, until he got there and actually SAW his dad do everything he could to protect him, and accepted him, even after being a L'cie, after that, I think was when Hope was able to really grow into the man he becomes in the later game(s).
Sorry, was a bit more than a paragraph, but it's been awhile since I've been able to talk about XIII <_< >_>
edit note: I know she's not the only strong and independent female in FF, I'm not saying the rest were all weak damsels by any right, FF has always been awesome about portraying a woman's strength.

Anti Hero - Sephiroth 2nd choice
All time favorite Celes
Reason, best character build up with esper's, blocks magic with runic blade and cannot be hit by magic or attacks once I build her right with stats at 99.
Her story is good always my main character in FF6

				Terra/Tina Branford x1000000000000000000000000000000000
* I like her sprite with green hair, she looks much more magical.
LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.
(Marvelous economics IQ test!)

My fave would have to be Quistis Trepe from 8. Game gets a lot of flack but the characters are all quite relatable with real world issues. xD
In her case it was the older sibling sorta deal. Felt so much like how my life was at the time. The wise, sometimes harsh, older sibling who's always relied on but rarely acknowledged.

Favorite Male FF character is Godbert because if there is a god Godbert is his equal
Favorite Female FF character is Rikku because despite the irresponsible personality she ended up being the character with the most responsibility as shown in FFX-2 Final Mission when she revealed all the work she has done after the ending of FFX-2.
