Strange thing.. When I see forums, everyone there and their mom has passed coil t9. (And I'm sure you are not lying about that, since archievements about that are seen in lodestone). But inside the game situation is completely different, people have problems with.. everything.
I have issues clearing T5. Not because I'm bad at it, but because I don't have the luxury of a static party filled with competent people. Competent statics can clear just about any kind of content this game has to offer without difficulty. The trouble with static groups, however, is that many of them have a very low patience threshold and an even shorter temper, which is not at all fun to deal with.
Maybe I'm just too much of a casual, but I'm not yet willing to sacrifice fun and enjoyment for progression in this game yet.
Meh. Don't agree. I'd say most statics have a much higher threshold for wiping and mistakes. Well, at least while learning. Because at the end of raid they know when they come back it'll be with the same people who wont make the same mistakes again, thus progressing. Compared to PuGs where some people will rage and ditch at the first sign of a baddie. Which I don't fault them for.
I have a lot more fun in my static than in PuGs. We joke and laugh between bosses, and generally have a good time. I feel much more comfortable learning content with them than in a PuG.
Now, if you mean trying to join a static then that's another story. Of course some of them will judge you harshly.
We read this a lot, you're not the only one. Just a question though. Does this mean that content should be die-friendly? No matter when you die, you should always be able to clear it? <-- This is what you're saying: dying "at the wrong time". SCoB is really die-friendly. On every single turn you can have multiple, several deaths and still clear it. The lower your knowledge of the turn and ilvl are, the harder it is. It's called progress.
Also, Coil turn 2 had to be done the normal way. You couldn't enrage it with the ilvl we had back then. It's a bit weird when people make up arguments to justify their facts based on their opinion.
I saddens me that people can't bring up the motivation to learn content. What saddens me even more is SE giving in to these people.
If anything, the dungeons and other content they keep adding are too easy in comparison so it's kind of rude awakening when they step into current tier coil or newer EX modes and they get destroyed.
Especially look at the story mode versions of Levi "(Hard)" and Ramuh "(Hard)" and compare them to their EX versions.
Every time they add "new" dungeons, players are already overgeared for them. Dungeon bosses get gear blasted and are over in minutes while some of the "harder" fights in the game are endurance mechanic heavy fights.
Tell me more about how you one shot SCoB on release day and didn't wait for other people to post the strategies for you.The difficulty in this game is non-existent. Savage coil is the only thing that has presented a single challenge to me, and it annoys the living hell out of me when I see people complaining wah wah wah its too hard. If the content is too hard for you, go do some of the more casual stuff. Don't ruin our fun just because you want to have something to complain about, because I could on the other hand complain about this game being too easy all day long. There is plenty else to do in this game to satisfy everyone. Let us more hardcore players enjoy our rough content that makes us smash our heads on the wall for several hours at a time. If you don't like it, its simple... go do hunts or fates or get your novus, or something of the more casual nature.
To be fair the fights in this game heavily rely on people knowing the script or you are forced to die over and over to weird mechanics, rather than actual "difficulty".
You don't die to T5 divebombs because they are "hard", you do because you have no idea of what is going on until you learn Yoshi's dance.
Going into an Extreme mode fight or the latest tier of Coil and complaining the game is too hard for randoms is like going into a Mexican restaurant and complaining the food has too much spice.
There is absolutely a dearth of engaging and relevant content for semi-casuals players who don't have the time or commitment to be raiding (or just fell behind the curve and can't find or organize a static) right now, thanks to the ridiculous ease with which casual players can cap off and be left with nothing else to do but these fights. But the like six raid-level fights in the game aren't the core of the problem, and their tuning is honestly fine. In fact, they're probably the only fights in the game that challenge i90+ players at any level of play competency beyond "do you know the ddr pattern". You know, like actually playing your job at capacity.

I've seen enough "questionable" statements here :
1. QQ ing about coil2 and REX training dummy? sigh peeps these days, they even clueluess of how DECEIVING the ilvl requirement of several duties
2. No need for "crazy" DPS only need peeps who know HOW TO PLAY THEIR JOB PROPERLY
3. U dun need melee lb for super slug and dreadnought
4. No learning party for REX? Then make a learning party on pf by urself OP!
