Today I got Thavnairian Onion, I’m the one who’s responsible of gardening in my FC and we have over 150 Chocobo most of them rank 10 and need the Onion to rank up.

So one month and in the end only got one, so SE this is not fair, you limit the amount of gardens that we can have in the FC and the onion needs lots of time to grow and you only get one each time you plant the seed.
And each time you want to rank up you need one.

So if you have 150 chocobo’s you will need 1500 Thannairian Onion’s.
Lots of people in my FC who donate gill to the FC are upset because of this.

I'm hoping when personal housing is released we'll be able to have our own gardens. Also onions are starting to show up for ~1.5mil or so on the market board on my server at least. Give it time and there will be plenty of them floating around.

It's not like there's any challenging open world content currently that needs a double spec'd Chocobo so I don't really see why a lot of the Chocobo stuff is this time consuming to get other than more artificial time gated grinds. Even in Hunts using a companion is frowned upon and overall it's better to go with a full party with no companions to get full credit. Maybe whenever Chocobo Racing happens they might be rewards, if Chocobo ranks even matter in that and whenever the Gold Saucer is implemented since it keeps getting pushed back.

My main complain about the Thav. Onion is how long it takes to grow, which is about 8 bloody days.
If they can't change the growth time, at least make it yield more then 1 onion per harvest...

A39: When we were planning gardening from fields, we were thinking about making it possible in the future to garden from pots as well. However, we need to look at gardening from fields a bit more, so we'd like to implement this later.

Keep in mind, if the 8 days started on a Monday or Tuesday you would be able to get 2 challenge log entries done. That's only 20% of 1.44 million. If you can grind that much xp on your chocobo in 8 days, then your grind is on another level.

Bear in mind, we're not talking about one individual's Chocobo. You can only get Onions from FC gardens. If your FC has 150 chocobos, that's one onion every eight days for ONE of those Chocobos. If you're going to be fair about it, then, and level everyone's chocobo up evenly, it will take several years to level everyone's chocobo ONE LEVEL (let alone ten).

I don't know anything about gardening, but I'm assuming you can probably grow more than one onion at a time. Even so, even if you can grow a dozen onions at once, we're still looking at a pretty huge timeframe.

As for "nothing in the game needs double-specced chocobos", this is true. Nothing outside of raids needs raid-level gear, either, but the reason for acquiring it is the same: Sure, you can accomplish something in the gear / with the chocobo you have, but you can do it FASTER and MORE AWESOMELY with the higher levels. I don't think the demand is going to go down anytime soon.

3 different thing give onions 2 way, and 7 one way, so you can get up to 7 per group. Though it doesn't have a way to loop into itself, so that causes a delay between onion groups.
