After a few attempts of Titan Ex I see what you guys mean. Duty Finder for EX encounters is turning out the be the thing to do when you need hands-on practice or don't want to watch the video lol.

I would have used my FC sooner but I hate taking time from others just to be hand-held, especially since they are all veterans and have done this months ago.

The funny thing with many DF groups is that they are not willing to kick the under-performers, out of my 30 times running there were maybe 5 times I was booted simply because I gave the group an ultimatum; kick the spiny perpetrator/undergeared X or kick me.

And it is absolutely accurate to say that Echo does not fix stupid.

Most people dont respond well to ultimatums. I so would have voted to kick you if you started trying to dictate ultimatums to me lol. But yeah DF has always been a place where you go to try and learn the mechanics of the fight before taking a serious run at it via PF or FC party (mostly talking about extreme trials here). Regardless if you feel its always other people's fault (in this case DF people) that you can't complete a trial then you should have no fear of joining/creating a no non-sense, 1 f**k up and your kicked PF group to do it (unless of course you arent as confident as you make yourself out to be in knowing and evading the mechanics). I did like the idea though someone in here earlier suggested about making endgame guildhest where you could practice some of the mechanics you can see in endgame raids/trials. God knows alot of people need it based on DF lol.

It makes sense that they would be hard, but the only thing that is a bit frustrating for me is that the DPS check for the sisters in garuda and the heart phase in Titan is cut so very close if everyone is geared up with the "recommended" ilvl. I started all these with ilvl 90 but when I finally got my win for Garuda, everyone was geared at the minimum requirement aside from myself and one of the healers. Sure we won, but we wiped more times than I care to remember. We needed to be near perfect with the DPS checks and it got to the point where some just stopped moving when they felt we already lost too much time. It is hard to say if an Ilvl increase would be a fix here, but I do know as it stands now, it is doable, just requires perfection. XD
Minimum not recommended. Minimum means it's barely possible and only if everybody is an expert.

ilvl or echo is pointless, immediately if any1 sees "one or more has not completed, bonus of 100myths",
game to reward 100myths is pointless.

Having high ilvl doesn't = guaranteed win

    Examples
    T4 : 1 tank &1 healer@ ilvl90, rest ilvl96, 1 drg with HA, - wiped 5 times - disband
    T6 : 1healer ilvl 90, rest abv 90, 2 with novus, or at least 1 HA item - Wiped 4 times disband
Mog Ex : Avg ilvl 95(helping Drg to clear) - Wiped many times - disband

    Others
    T5 : Avg ilvl92, 4BLMs - Victory after 4 tries
    T6 : Avg ilvl91, Sol gear only - 1 shot victory+food

Hence, ilvl plays a part, but doesn't guarantee wins. most of e time is team work n practice.

This. People have beaten Garuda in ilevel far under the i90, and without echo. There is nothing hard besides not going with braindead people, and getting your party to use triangle method

Only in NA/EU. JP servers use PF for training

It is times like these that I sorta regret not starting on a JP server, as I always have in the past. For my play style and (for lack of a better word) aptitude, I find rolling with JP's a lot more fun and less dramamatic. Also fits my currently play time. But then again, when I return to the mainland I'd have to transfer again or play at 2am+

PF should definitely be used for practice and learning. Guess the thought of PF is "this is for peeps that KNOW WTF they are doing or GTF out" 1 wipe kicks, /ragequits and name calling.

    /shrug

And I agree that fixing the iLVL doesn't fix lazy/stupid/lag/stupid/can'tplaytheclass...etc.

There should be an aptitude test before you enter the duty via DF for the EX's, you know like what's the square root of 69? How many purple hat's does the wallawalla beaverbadger own in Pokemon? Who has a power rating of over 9000!? .. Like a dummy detector, IDK.

Frustrating as it is, it's what we have to deal with at times. (Based on my bad experience with t5 bullsh*t)

You would hope people would not que for stuff like Primals Ex blindly to practice. I myself always watch a vid and read up on end game content. Example: watched ifrit ex vid, joined a Df group got hands on exp. And felt comfortable. Asked Pf group if I could join since I felt comfortable. Beat ifrit with that clear group as a tank abd farmed a couple runs with as well as learned a few tips that where provided.

Unless they change the way ilvl is calculated, it probably wouldn't make much of a difference. Party Finder or running with your FC or a static is the way to go. With a full FC group we've cleared it each time we've ran it, and that was even with new people in some of them.
That sounds more like someone had no clue what to do then a ilvl issue tbh. either someone stood in all the bad stuff, the healers had no clue what they did or most likely, spiny didnt't got killed/killed to early and Ruda just destroyed you.
Ruda is designed for way lower then i90.

Garuda EX is just a pain of a fight. Titan ex is easy compared to it. I had a similar experience with garuda ex... wipe after wipe after wipe for prob over 30 tries... at the end with a random team of end game raiders we still had to get to echo 10% or so before winning it. I don't plan to ever again run garuda ex... that's a pain I can live without. Titan ex though is fun and easy... got to adds on the first try - only reason I didn't clear it yet is because I get preoccupied with other things... like T5 training with my own group - hoping for a clear this weekend.

Weird, i never had issues with Garuda EX, even did it in a "non echo" group where we simply clicked off the echo buff after a wipe. Killed it a couple times in DF as well.
Titan ex i never ever killed and lets just say i have nightmares from staring at his ass for hours. Lagging like crap aint helping either. Gotta love that on my screen i was nearly jumping off the plaform yet i still got hit by the plumes in the middle.
