I would approve of this especially since the Bard pants are split on two colors anyway
Greetings,
After speaking with the development team, we were informed that allowing gear to be dyed more than one color would double the data for a single piece of equipment. This would also require changes to the equipment system itself, so we do not have any plans at the moment to make it possible to dye gear two different colors.

lol thought this was some gradient/ombre thread
but yeah like Sailor shirt, even if you dye it theres still things blue.

That is understandable Camate, therefore in the future can the devs take into consideration making the majority of an item dyeable. For example my previous post about MNK and BRD's Soldiery body pieces. Monk's has more dyeable parts per piece than Bard's. (See the leather parts of the body pieces in these pictures)

What about just more color-change when utilizing a single dye? So you don't have these horrible color clashes happen with gear that is predominantly two-toned already.Greetings,

The Augmented AF gear seems to do this, at least the pieces I have dyed so far, so hopefully they continue with it.
While that's understandable about the data size for all armor, what about the upcoming chocobo dyeing system? Will/would it be possible to choose a secondary color for the feather tips in addition to the main plumage? Seems like it should be much more manageable when there's only 1 chocobo per player rather than a large number of pieces of gear per person.

Yeah if duo tone dyeing is not possible then it would at least be nice if some of the pieces would get dyed more then they do already. Like the light steel galerus and subligar where only the little bit of leather is dyed while the metal stays the same color. Considering that other metal armors also can get there metal colored it sucks that for those to pieces you nearly see nothing of the color.
