Is this the repair system players' wanted?

I aprove this modification! Is a pain in the ass to have a lot of various materials just to repair my whole gear...

See here's the problem:

It was never 100% designed for people to be self sufficient in this regard, it was designed that it pushed people to seek out/make friends/etc with DoH folks. However given the highly anti-social nature of this game it was a given that people made things harder than it needed to be.

a) Reduces inventory bloating to maximum of 5 slots
b) Creates a gil sink if you use the NPC to buy Dark Matter
c) Creates more economic circulation via MIN/BTN/FSH all being able to produce Dark Matter as well as any player who obtains them via leves
d) Simplifies an inconvenient system
e) reduction in NPC repair cost (and who really believes they will reduce it so much it would invalidate Dark Matter? This isn't Tanaka we're talking about anymore.)

I have to say that I don't like the repair system, because from my point of view it doesn't add any fun to the game. But at the point where we are I think that this new idea of Dark Matter isn't so bad.

(I would have used a different name, Dark Matter should be something cool/rare not just a common material used to repair your Coif... )

Well i was hoping they would remove repair system, but imo this new universal item repair all is great, inventory wise and not having to search for the correct mats is great.

In my opinion, the repair system(if it worked properly) would've made fatigue redundant in the first place, being as having to repair crap would lead to at least some downtime(maybe in the form of a reminder of "oh hey, I totally forgot I had to do this irl thing). I also think that it keeps crafters and gatherers relevant, and now more so than before, 'cause who's going to be gathering all this stuff in addition to materia catalysts? That's right, our gatherer buddies.

This system might seem like it makes things to convenient...but this only applies to people who are either not playing several different classes at the same time, or they don't repair their stuff themselves.

I play GLA, ARC and THM regularly, while crafting a lot and gathering as a MIN...so I got 5 different gear sets on me at any time.

As I got pretty much everything ranked, I can repair all of my stuff myself...and just to be able to repair all of my stuff myself at any time, I need to carry around 13 slots of repair mats in my inventory...these include

Iron Nugget
Steel Nugget
Brass Nugget
Silver Nugget
Electrum Nugget
Iron Square
Buffalo Leather Spetch
Raptor Leather Spetch
Boar Leather Spetch
Chamois Spetch
Oak Branch
Canvas Fent
Velveteen Fent

As much as I don't mind the repair system at all as it is right now, the Dark Matter makes things convenient in a good way and ANYBODY who is not able to repair ALL of their stuff themselves while playing several classes equally should not be allowed to have a word in this cause they are not even effected by this.

When you need to carry around 10-15 repair items at once to repair all of your shit, then you can have a word on this matter...otherwise I'll recognize you as a troll.

This mentality is silly -- The system was clearly designed as a community aspect, not a "do it yourself tim the toolman" system. Just because you can be self-sufficient doesn't mean it's the preferred way, just like in their previous FF MMO I could level Goldsmithing to make money but instead I leveled Fishing and made tens of millions in my hayday.

It's actually more efficient to rely on someone who specializes (e.g there ARE people who level DoH and DoL only) than trying to do absolutely everything yourself. So it's a bit hard to justify the logic that unless someone does it themselves, they can't comment on the system.

I don't do gathering as I do alchemy for my shards, do I have no say so in that Gathering needs adjusting?
