CUL can't get Mastercraft Demimateria. Neither can CRP, ALC, or LTW. Of the four that CAN get Mastercraft Demimateria, GSM has it the easiest, then WVR or ARM, then BSM. But CUL is hardly alone in not being able to get Mastercraft Demimateria. Really, the only class that can do it cheaply and easily is GSM.

Well RNG is sure making this hell on me. Since learning how to obtain this, I've leveled my Culinarian desynth steadily whilst fishing up Silver Sovereigns to get the Forager's Rod to obtain the stats needed to go after the Olgoi.
Well, I got that by now, fully melded fisher gear, FC buff, Spinach Quiche HQ, arrived at 382 Gathering stat, maximum value without the i75 rod as far as I'm aware.
And yet, as I am fishing during Heat Waves, out of the 12 HQ Storm Riders I mooched with that didn't result in Dune Mantas, 5 of them were Caravan Eels, the remaining 7 all resulted in "the fish got away..."
I understand making things rare and hard to get. I really do. But it just feels really, really bad to have the best possible stats and still continuously fail at landing these fish.
And that's not even taking into account the numerous fails I'm sure to get in the desynthing part of the procedure.
Easing up on this just a tiny bit would help tremendously.

Just wait until you start desynthing them. Even at 100 desynth skill you only have 70% success rate. Also even when you do succeed the chance of it dropping is low. All that rng hell just to get a vanity piece. I really don't know what SE was thinking when they decided to make this material incredible hard to obtain unless you're an rng god. I quit trying to get the waterproof cotton after I successfully desynthed 10 olgois and the best thing I got out of it was clear demimateria III. I could live with all the rng if they only made it a 70-100% drop after a successful desynth but that's not even the case. It's kinda sad that a piece of vanity is the hardest piece of clothing to obtain in the game. Even clearing turn 9 is a more reachable goal for most players than getting this piece of cotton. I wish luck to the rest you going after this material because you're going to need alot of it.

Wow a turn 9 sell is 300 mil on your server? I'd love to do sales on your server! I'd never have worry about gil again. Although my point was that there is a greater percentage of players capable of clearing turn 9 than getting one waterproof. In no way was I talking about actually buying turn 9 or waterproof cotton itself. Now if a player wanted to get multiple pieces of waterproof cotton, then percentage plummets even further. As people figure out just how hard it is to obtain waterproof cotton, I can imagine that the prices for it will go up even further. There still isn't a waterproof cotton selling on the market on my server but, I can take a guess that it'll be around 20 mil for someone who actually took a decent time to get it.

*whistles the Everquest theme*
The rarity of this material is pretty disappointing. It seems like you need to be exceedlingly rich, lucky or be a gil buyer to obtain it. -.-

I found out some encouraging information. the waterproof cotton can also be obtained from desynthing seabreeze halters. I personally know someone who got it after a few attempts of desynthing. Unfortunately, I don't have a screenshot so you have to take it at face value.

Saw it on Malboro for the first time, 15 million.
