About friendly races settlements and villages

We know we'll have some beast-tribes settlements/strongholds in the near future, probably most of them will be our enemies. But i think Eorzea needs also some friendly races settlements, along with Sylph race. Which friendly race/creature would you see implemented?

I have some ideas for now,

Dwarf clan in the underground (think at FF4 and king Giott)
They could be in continuous conflict with Kobolds to conquer the underground realm and the supremacy of the Steam Machinery Development. We could help them in some quests and missions (reputation, etc.). They could have a solid castle underground and several machineries.

    Mandragora communities
They are so special they deserve a spot in the Eorzea important clans. They could live in little communities that have their house in various part of Eorzea. 1. In the big trees (different from Sylphs that seam to have their home 'around' the trees). Explorable tree interiors with wooden rooms and stuff would be awesome. 2. In some kind of clay little buildings, with strange and particular shapes. And so on, depend of the zone they are. We could use Tiny spell or item to enter in their homes.
But there could be also some evil mandragoras around (black colored ones)..

    Moogle village (of course)
In the deepest part of the forest of Black Shroud, lies a secret passage to their home (a new area)..

    Chocobo clearing
Thinking about FF4, a hidden clearing where several wild chocobos (all colors) and their leader, Fat Chocobo, (he could communicate with us, after a quest completition) live..

I like the idea of using Mandragora's as an intelligent species. Tho, their homes should be much too small for us to explore.

I'm not much of an final fantasy vet in that i only played 7 after it had been out for ages. XI is my only major final fantasy experience, so i find conversing with chocobos to be odd. But honestly, im open to most any ideas that make the world feel more alive.
As for building our own items....i'd rather let the dev team handle that.

I think the mandragors should not attack us, but should show that they don't want us in their home, buy getting in our way, and forming a barrier in front of us when we try to get too close to their tree! Like they all run up and join hands together in front of us, and try to block us

    Sorry, Yoshi doesn't like mob-behaviour.

He said it makes the game too difficult if NPCs and mobs exhibit some A.I.
