Once I tried DPSing with my scholar in Cutter's Cry, but then i took a "would you do your job instead of bot-healing?" to the knee.
I was still learning how to kite ants >_> and the tank died at the very end. but still, instead of running away aggroing everything, you could have waited till I recasted protect and SS >_>

When we die, it's always our fault. Since tanks always hold all the aggro of every mob and healers shouldn't have to heal anything but the tank. Obviously, not all tanks and healers have that attitude, but the minority that do are loud and aggravating enough to get all the attention.

I never have any issues with a player doing something weird because they either are new to the duty or just learning a new class. It's people that do things deliberately that piss me off, like the tank that runs around a single mob in a circle constantly to try to prevent the DRG or MNK from getting a positional attack in.

Worst I've had that I can recall was a tank that seemed moderately well geared (I don't recall with what, but I checked) completely unable to hold hate even on single targets in the Darkhold. I was doing that dungeon for a book so I wasn't about to leave and wait another hour to get in. I don't play PLD so I couldn't tell what actions he was performing by animation alone, but he could only have been doing things out of order, and though being a MNK skews my timing a bit, I'm sure he allowed the GCD to elapse and still did nothing sometimes. Just sitting there auto-attacking.

I ended up tanking the last boss there for the entire duration of the fight, never using blood for blood because I was being attacked, and almost never getting any positional bonuses (so automatically doing like 66% normal DPS and remaining at the top of the threat list). The first healer gave up after so many wipes. It's tough keeping a MNK alive tanking a boss after all. Somehow we got a replacement who managed. It was just the weirdest thing.

MNK was tanking DD the whole fight because our "supposed to be" tank was a...marauder....

More likely than not, the PLD was not using his rage of halone combo. You'll know they're using the combo properly if a strength debuff appears on the enemy (looks like 2 green vines intertwined with red background). It is the PLD's largest single-target enmity generating skill and that debuff only procs with the combo.

As for me, I ran Brayflox with a PLD who insisted they knew the dungeon and had finished it before. Despite this however, he was not using the halone combo nor flash. Our healer would immediately draw aggro the moment she healed. We tried to give advice on how to keep aggro, but the tank insisted that he had done it before with another party and they had no problems clearing the mobs. Well, we got by with BLM/WHM sleeps and squeaked by the first boss by having the bard kite. The tank got too toxic at that point that we voted for an abandon.

On a brighter note, a tank abandoned a Cutter's Cry run, leaving the party to progress the last 3rd of the dungeon. Things went smoothly but we had to face Chimaera with only a dragoon, bard and a white mage. The DRG tanked the boss, while the BRD and WHM attacked it from a distance. At times, the BRD would kite the Chimaera while the DRG outran a plasma ball or snuck in the side for a heavy-thrust and disembowel combo. It was hectic, fun, and all the more satisfying when a warrior joined only in time to see us kill it with a 3-man.

So I was trying to get my relic weapon for my Summoner yesterday at Amadapor keep.
The tank and the healer were new to the duty, I thought no problem. The other dps sighed and leaves suddenly, and then a BLM joined.

As we were doing the dungeon things seemed fine, until we got to the first boss. The BLM explained the mechanics of the fight and we proceeded to the boss.

When Psycheflayer used mind melt and then a golem used obliterate, everyone was near death, the healer used regen on everyone instead of medica or curing! We were able to survive until Psycheflayer spawned the giant golem.

The tank felt bad and said it was probably his fault since he was new. We attempted it again. The same thing happened, regen instead of healing! We asked the whm to consider using medica when everyone was low and she didn't respond.

So we tried it again and wiped. The duty was then abandoned. I waited nearly forty minutes in the duty finder for it!

Yesterday I had Tam Tara HM for my daily and the Tank was just awful. I told him he should rotate his combo on all targets, use flash and circle of scorn. Then the whole party jumped on me saying I was rude. Then, after failing miserable on the first boss (because the other DPS killed all the adds with his AoE move), they decided to kick me because I gave the tank some tips. Some people need to grow a thicker skin.
