What do I think? I think the boards aren't even needed. SE designed the game so that you can acquire every mat, craft everything, and meld every item by yourself (with a few friends for instanced mats, of course).

So I think you're putting too much faith in the economy. Do everything yourself and don't worry about who's the richest person in Eorzea. The ONLY things that restrict you from playing due to lack of money at the moment is gardening for mats, and raising your chocobo's level.

I would love if they got rid of every market board and forced everyone to barter and interract with other people via a bazaar again.

No they did not. Can you miner / harvest an unspoiled node while at work during real life? I sure cannot. If you can, what is your secret?

What does that have to do with it? He was saying that it's not impossible to gather things in the game since you're not restricted on what you can be.

While it may not be "technically" possible to gather those unspoiled, it is functionally impossible to gather them.
While it is technically possible for humans to land on the moon, are you functionally going to ever have that opportunity to do it? Errr... likely not.

So... you're saying that the market board needs to be fixed because you have a job?

    I don't understand... ._.

How is it functionally impossible to gather them? Make time. You're not working 24 hours and 7 days a week. Final Fantasy XIV:ARR has had servers running for over 10 months now--you should have had enough time to level your disciple of lands to make this apparently impossible task possible. Furthermore, please note that you have forgotten the last part of the sentence which points out the benefit of having friends on the server. You can't gather stuff? Ask your friends too. I'm sure they have time.
