Take a closer look as to why I said what I said, there is no way you clear T8 without ballad at least once, an extra 20HP per cure does not outdo an extra refresh you get.a At 4.5k MP you are regening 90 MP a tick (3 seconds) that extra 500MP is 3 more Cure Is just from having more than you to start off, with a 15% Cure II proc. Also in a longer fight like that, 10min+ I end up regening over 2000MP more than you just from standing idle which, in turn is another 15 extra cures I get more than you over the course of that fight which is an extra 18,000 HP cured over you that I did not require any support getting, not even including the free cure procs which if you throw in adds even more potency i get over you, as well as not requiring ballad as often which in turn adds to the groups entire DPS which in turn adds to a smoother more effective run.

And the fact remains that you do not need 5k MP. I understand why you are saying you need 5k MP because that lets you regen MP faster. But the fact remains that it doesn't matter if I finish T8 with 200 mp or 2000 mp. In fact I'd say that if I'm finishing with 2k mp because I choose piety over DET then I'm putting more strain on my healing partner. If you had read what I wrote I've done T8 and it was the SMN that was asking for ballad not me. I'm not saying I'm able to do T8 without a Ballad (I doubt you can even at 5k MP) but the fact that it was being sung for another Mage means I wasn't the cause of it. Yes I benefit from the ballad I'm not saying that I don't and I would have needed it but I'm able to last long enough that the SMN needs it first which is means I have enough MP in my book.

That said I still plan on putting PIE on my Novus with DET but DET is the better stat.
