Now you know why nearly everything is instanced and not a lot of Overworld stuff... LOLAre you saying you would've been happier if you didn't know about them, continued to try and do Hunts, but were always suspiciously joined by a couple dozen others who couldn't have been in the same area at that time? Ignorance is bliss? "Advertising" (bringing the app to light) is a bad thing because SE might - however unlikely - take a stance against it, giving you a better chance at earning legit rewards?
This is the internet, not only is stuff like this going to be spread whether you like it or not, but third party programs will always be prevalent. They will always be evolving, too, just like RMT. The best way to be unaware of the problem is to find a nice PS2 single player RPG and actually enjoy gaming again XD Online issues such as this always make me question why I (or other people) put up and even PAY for this stuff...
Despite hating how hunts and elite marks work as they are, I have to say I believe it's "Working as intended" however the mass of people doing it makes it seem broken. How do you fix this? any way to fix it now like giving the marks more HP, down the line when they aren't farmed as often the B rank marks will not even be looked at because it'll take too long and the reward is too small. The only error I with the elite marks atm was they gave EVERYONE Nauld. A bad joke for a system that has marks in every zone but they gave everyone the same one. I've seen 5 different B rank marks only killed 3 cause 20+ people on them kill them in seconds.
So in my final words: Working as intended yet very poorly executed.
I really want hunts either removed now or very very nerfed. People are cheating heavily with radar programs and its getting to the point where all other aspects of the game are feeling the pressure.
Why do dungeons anymore? Hunts are so frequent with so much myth and soldier that dungeons no longer play a part in the game. Last night I saw the whole PF list full of groups that couldn't even fill the new Ramuh with practice groups due to so much of my server never leaving the hunt parties.
What was the point of adding a daily/weekly hunt board IF YOU DON"T EVEN NEED THEM? I thought hunting was supposed to work that way until I found out that much better rewards drop from random monsters.
It's killing the game for others.
Completely agree , force pops/individual pops that is what i actually expected from hunting , but defenately not what we have now .
daily hunt - trash , lazy designed . way it better has to be like elite (1 new NM or 3~4 NM's for solo play)
weekly hunt - 4 ~8 ppl's , where S rank difficulty is extremely hot
all this like maps - Forced pops , so everyone happy![]()
This is actually the definition of exaggeration.Indeed, and i'm not exaggerating, every single so called "hunter" is using a radar to make the process even quicker. Apparently, it wasnt easy nor quick enough for the players to get free sands, oils and alexandrites, they needed an even more...convinient way to get them.
It's not so bad on my server, most people are calling out a pull time and inviting to parties. It's a really inconsistent experience but to just stomp your feet and declare everyone involved in it as cheaters is ridiculous.

Personally, I only wanted NMs related to lower level (or maybe early 50s relevant), but nothing really endgame related. Targets like Spiny Spipi, Stray Mary, etc. NMs that don't have too much relevance except to those that need them. Maybe have some that drop Untradeable equips or crafting materials (or tradeable, I guess it doesn't matter too much as long as it's not endgame related). Start off small so that you can tread the waters in case things like what's currently going on come up.
I initially was hoping that the hunt NPCs actually had some real use, and that you had to go out and seek your target (similar to a treasure hunt with using Dig). When I found out it was open world, I thought meh... shouldn't be too bad. I guess I underestimated the trolls and folks that want alexandrite/oils/sands. We have a couple LSs that do literally nothing but camp Naul to prevent others from getting it for most of the day lol. The other Hunt LSs do literally nothing but have 40+ people scouring every zone. As soon as an A or S is found, they show up like ants... swarm the hell out of the target within a minute or two.
It's kinda crazy how fast some of them show up, even in areas that are VERY far from the aetheryte... almost makes me question if some of them use the same position hacks that RMT tend to use. Pretty sure they're not, as that's way too easy to track, and I'd hope people aren't THAT stupid... but I do get proven wrong on that regard nearly all the time.

Just remove the sands as an obtainable item from doing hunts. This is the number one reason why people are grinding and becoming very intense and exclusive about it. If sands dropped in CT as it was supposed to be originally then there would be no issue as people will only be doing it for the minions or for glamour. As it stands you can easily get all your weathered gear to 110 just by grinding. I managed to get one prior to patch and I was only hunting for about 6 hours (got 2 S ranks and one free log) while my friend, who has been doing only hunts since 2.3 went live, has over 5 and counting. I haven't done it since because people have gotten very toxic and irate over marks since the hotfix and I don't want to deal with any of that. All I've been hearing in my hunt ls is people blaming each other and kicking/blisting people for early pulls.
If SE wanted people to burn through content and get to the max ilvl in just a week then gg. /clap

1. I recall previously many ppl said "no one put a gun at your head" to the ppl complaining ATMA ^^;
2. I recall many ppl said "this is a MMO, we need NM for hunting TOGETHER", so now I realised that the together actually means "only my firends" but in a MMO, together means anyone and everyone of the random players.
IMO, the result is expected, it is too late to make change on it, I think introduce new tome and raise iLV to 120 asap could be a good resolution. ^^;
Should have never been a free for all. Should have been a forced pop with items farmed from surrounding mobs to lure out the elite mobs and they are tied to the party summoning the mark. Bystanders are allowed to help for a fraction of rewards other than seals.
After experiencing the issues with the hunts, I also believe there should be an emergency maintenance to remove hunts from the game temporarily. That's not all though. REWARDS OBTAINED FROM THE HUNTS SHOULD BE ROLLED BACK. All players who logged in since the patch would then receive one free oil, one free sand, and a vanity item as compensation. They can then take the time to implement the system as it was meant to be, and the players who did hunts before will not have an advantage over the players who did not and have to play the new hunt system which will likely not give as many rewards.
