I'm sorry if I distasted your post. However. I do believe that is why they made the emote. To give your character some animation. Do you know how fast it would just seem so bland if your character talked into a linkpearl everytime you typed to your friends in there? I don't think you'd ever see that thing come down from your ear. (See? I even threw a little zinger for a joke in!)

Maybe for LS chat your character would only put there finger to their ear and talk something simple like that.

Ya I was saying /tell /linkshell for those who love ultra realism with what they call immersion. BuT i personally like /say /shout /party ones at least. (party animation only work if in close proxy to party member.)

Plus these animaions can be used to make movies which helped WoW get those high subs.
Each race and clan can have a different animations also. Which again will add flavor. Maybe give us options to change types between silly serious flirty. Depending on our mood.

If you're serious about this animation of certain features, then I say instead of an animation for talking in party or say that the animation acts on certain key words. For instance......And I hate this word.......Certain things said in chat, such as, "lol" could be used to activate the character to laugh hysterically. "lmfaorofl" That'll be good.......Basically that should animate the character into a Homer Simpson dance on the floor.....Hahaha! Certain key structures such as that would be funny to watch no matter what.

I'm not saying let's list 100 ways of animation. God knows that half the emote's are just sad. Just a dozen really good one's is all you would need.

This is a great idea, and really only ever served to add to the immersion when I've seen it implemented in other games. I think chat bubbles should definitely be added as well, but should be toggle-able (as they are in WoW, for you haters). For someone like me, chat bubbles increase immersion in the world because I'm actually staring at the character I'm talking to, reading what they're saying, and not staring at some chat box in the lower left corner of my screen. Chat bubbles ruining immersion? Please. People need to catch up with the times.

ya i liked chat bubbles for that reason also. I knew who was talking. Technically speaking we do have chat bubbles in game. Just offset ones. When ever you talk to an npc a chat box comes up for that npc.
Also it helps witch chatting in general since chat box spam. it wouldn't effect chat bubbles so you can read what ppl are saying.
But again i'm more for animations if anything. if we can someone can repost this with proper dev marker? and let this one die since it seems so far ppl like this idea?

It would be nice to see my character's mouth move and whatnot, but I would much rather see that in the list of priorities all the way at the bottom, above the "jump" feature (dead last).
