Hunts are really fun... Late at night when not many people are on the game. Going around looking for some of these NM's is extremely fun. Found an A rank the other night, deathclaw I think? He one shot half my party and there were maybe 10 of us at him. It was really fun.
The problem is the COMMUNITY killing this amazing add on. When you have linkshells COMPLETELY full of people afk crafting with a few people looking then someone announces an A.... Ugh. I don't even bother looking anymore till late at night. It's the community's fault. Not SE. People wanted open world content.
I say give it another week or two and the patch bandwagons will leave, and some people will just give up. But do not call the hunts terrible. If someone "starts" an A rank early before the mob of fakers shows up, who cares? It's not a problem of them not caring for other people. If too many people show up, they might not get full credit if they found it to begin with.
Shame the marks die in a few seconds ^^
Agree with others HP is way too low. Soloable NMs should be daily ones, elite marks, none should be soloable imo. Bs should have around 100-200k HP.
Biggest problem (player side totally) is people form up for them at the spawn and do a countdown (3 minutes till pull) to allow others to get there then you get a random pulling and it getting zerged to get rewards before people get there.

What depresses me is that they had an open world-esq / group mechanic already in place ala treasure maps. I thought hunts would be the same. Put together a group, find, spawn and kill the hunt, cheer and go clean out your stables. No such luck. Massive spamfest.
Just saw another bit of douchebaggery, I happened upon a rank A mark, started to fight it, had it to about 85%, then the hoard showed up, one douchebag shield lobbed and provoked it and started to run it off, I provoked, but the enemy won't turn back until it hits the one that pulled hate before, he ran far enough that it reset, and as soon as it did the mob killed and, and even though I found it, I was the one that initially engaged it, I only got 8 seals from it because of the way this crap was designed and the incredible amount of dumbass jackasses that ruin games like this.
They need way more than that. I'd say 500k hp for A and 1 mil hp for S. With roughly 60 people or more it would still take these marks a minute or two just to die, assuming they don't have heavy hitting aoe moves, which they should have, like gogomeria. As it stands the bosses in some fates are far more menacing than these "elite" marks.Shame the marks die in a few seconds ^^

Also the hunts isn't a terrible idea, it was just terribly implemented. You get 80 myths from A and 200 from S along with soldiery and logs in under one minute. Yeah no one in their right mind will think that no one would see this and farm the heck out of it. gg SE /clap

A bit tip, since they work life FATE, you can gain points without damaging the mob by spamming flash and cure.
That's how I handle B when I found them.
Hunts need about 20 times the HP they have now and it would be good.
The marks need some actual thought and application to make spawn. Instead they all just randomly appear, are randomly found, and randomly killed, so it's better to just wait for someone else to randomly find a mark for you and TP in than just waste time. This is especially true of A and B ranks.
The lore hints don't even make any sense or correlate to anything for most of the NMs, so the net result is brute-forcing every zone with a hunting party. It's a dry, repetitive activity that doesn't offer any real fulfillment, akin to the same kind of lottery ticket shuffling Atmas gave us.
It's a huge disappointment and a missed opportunity. I would have taken substantially less mark targets if each mark had more serious thought put into its spawn location and mechanism, or offered some kind of engagement for the search.
