I noticed this, under resolved issue "An issue wherein thaumaturges and black mages were able to cast multiple fire-based spells under the effect of Umbral Ice I or II."

Does that mean the mp regen trick to cast 2 flares is not possible anymore? That would be kind of a bummer.

thaumaturges can't cast Flare, so no.

It wasn't just flare that could take advantage of the Umbral Ice I/II extra tick. It was simply timing a fire spell to get a tick of umbral ice after your fire spell went off. So yes, this is about the Flare exploit.
