    I got this idea from Legend of Legaia, Arc Rise Fantasia, Skies of Arcadia, and some other RPG's that did this as a dungeon. It's pretty self explanatory. Decide which of your party members to go in what group and progress by going separate ways flipping switches, overcoming obstacles and enemies.

    Bosses that use the room's environment (Pillars, squares on the floor, etc.) to cast AOEs from that location so the party needs to be on it's toes and keep moving.

    The idea is there is a 12 hour clock, initially one mob spawns. When it's killed the clock moves it's hand to one. Then two of a mob spawn and when they are all dead the clock moves to two all the way up until 12, at which point 12 mobs appear and upon death treasure/move onto next area/something. Rest periods in-between permitting - maybe 1/2/3 o'clock then rest, 4/5/6 rest etc. This could easily be modified to just be mobs spawning one after the other, with more and more after each iteration - the clock just brings in some sort of relevance to it all.

    [Details] This one requires lots of communication between players + trust (Harry Potter? LOL)
    • Method 1: PT leader moves each player and deciding their fate, whoever takes the first move has advantage and can take down the mob (or you if its the mob's turn) this will require party members to trust the PT leader at same time the PT leader to listen to each players to make his/her ultimate destination.
    • Method 2: Same as method 1 but players take turn who to move not just the PT leader. When it's your turn you get to move any player. Problem with this? If I hate you... I will be like move your character in front of the mob.... OWNED LMAO!!
    • Method 3: Players control themselves but only if the rest of the party allows you to, players decide who to move, and if you get chosen you get to move your own char. You have to talk to your party members to move to the correct spot or might change outcome of the game.
    Make it more fun... add a timer to this... you better finish the puzzle within time or you going to have macho guys come into the room and rub their sweat all over you and dealing 9999 damage.

    Here's an idea:



    Altar of the elemental room !

    Obtain KI from bosses to get access to the mega boss !

    At the entrance, you're arriving in a circle room, There is 8 altars of element, and 9 doors.
    Behind the 8's first room, there is a tunnel, based on element you choosed to enter, there's also elemental based on the door element, once you arrive to the final room (of the elemental path) you must defeat an avatar, by killing it you obtain a rare/ex item and a Key Item.
    Let's say an example: Your entering the dungeon, you start with Ice Path, you go throug the ice door, and you get to an ice environnement with some ice elementals mob, defeating all the ice elemental will open the last door where stand Shiva, you defeat her and obtain Light of Ice Altar (everyone get it), and also, you obtain an essence of Shiva (rare/ex item).
    Next you go on anothers rooms and defeat all the avatars (Odin, Alexander, Shiva, Ifrit, etc... for all the elemental doors).
    Once you've got all the key item, you can join all the elemental altar light together and open the last door (Key item are lost, for everyone), where is standing the final boss, by defeating him you can get access to a secret door where stand a machine that is able to gatherer all the elementals essences from all avatar to make an unique elemental weapon of your choice. (it's up to your party to randomly get essences from avatar or focusing on one ppl to achieve an elemental weapon, most pick up party will probably randomly take the essence for themself, but in a linkshell group, there's a great chance of gathering for one member at a time).
    By having an elemental weapon equiped during the dungeon, you can get access to a new Key Item from avatars that'll give you access to upgrade this weapon again by adding more Materia socket, or more power (add a powerfull enspell to your auto-attack hit by exemple (or firing arrow).

    Edit: Last boss, could be a bubble based on all elemental, using the wrong element on him will heal it, the right element will do 2x damage. Physical jobs will do physical damage based on their elemental stats.

    Edit 2: oh, also all avatars are succeptible to drop some nice stuff o/

    Defeat the Demon Wall before it crushes the party;

    If you've played games like FFIV or XII, you know the drill. Somewhat long corridor, evil wall slowly moves towards the party, instant death if the wall crushes em. Players have to exploit constantly changing elemental weaknesses (while avoiding resists / absorbs) and are encouraged to incapacitate multiple parts of the wall to prevent dangerous moves like being grabbed by it's arms or be affected be several negative effects caused by it's foul breath. They have to strike a healthy balance between defense or offence, so it doesn't take too long to kill the wall, nor they die during the 'regular' battle against the creature.

    【Maps & Switches & Mobs oh my!】

    One player runs to a map&switch room and the rest of the party are left together to beat up mobs.

    The map will have as many 'switch rooms' as there are elements, each with a mob/mobs in them. The order you go to each switch rooms will change upon each instance. This means you cannot simply learn the order.

    The map/switch player can see the element of the next room to go to. When the party gets to the correct room, the player in the switch room has to stand on the correct element switch to open the door. Once everyone is inside the map room player steps off the switch and the mob(s) can spawn. Alternatively if SE are feeling lazy someone could just hit a ??? to spawn the mob and the door closes automatically.

    Once the main party kill the mob(s) the door is opened and the map room player obtains an elemental shard for the room (the item could pop in a chest in the map room). Once all elemental shards are obtained the map reader joins back up with the party to open a door to continue the dungeon or fight a boss or what-have-you!
