Any chance that the fanfest ingame items will be sold on mogstation?

Not sure what the big fuss is in here. It's pixels that will likely be nothing more than a piece of gear usable by all classes with a "perk" for levels 1-10 like the Pre-Order and CE items or something similar to the Garlond Goggles/Hermes Sandals. I don't think SE is stupid enough to give out an item that actually has some sort of meaningful impact on how the game is played.

Essentially:

"People will have something I won't have."

That's what it boils down to. If you really want the item, head to the fan festivals, find some way to get there or have someone get it for you, otherwise..exclusive items are always one of those little perks for going, just like going to comicon you can get some nice stuff you won't find at x companies website or a chance to actually talk to the people you enjoy the work of personally, stuff like that.

I have been taking a lot of shit from SE since i started playing FFxi, almost everything was locked in my country, i'm sorry but i disagree about this unfair advantage, a 10yo kid living in London can just ask his dad to buy a ticket, and go there walking. Am i mad about this? yes am i mad about not having the item? no, but the least they could do is offer the in-game item for those who can't afford the ticket, the travel and the hotel, because yes, they are offering the fanfest in 3 countries, but the world is way bigger than that.

You can have all the exclusive physical goodies you want, but not ingame items, i don't care what others do, i don't mind being confronted by lots of ppl against my opinion, this is unfair that's the truth.

Someone was talking about supporting the company with money, really poor excuse, i have been buying SE and SS games for years, i have been supporting this company with my money, what's my reward? this and more wonderful games, not an ingame item for ARR, the reward for going to the fan fest should be the fan fest itself, i would give a leg to go, but there are persons who need my legs here and i have to stay.

If you're lucky enough to go good for you, i'm jealous, don't make me even more jealous showing an ingame item to let everyone now know were there.

One comment I will make on the whole "it's purely cosmetic, it offers no in game benefit" is that everyone plays this game in a different way. Everyone has their own focus. With the personal housing system on the horizon, you can damn well bet there will be people who focus on that content over everything else. Not everyone raids or cares about raiding. Not everyone cares about doing the most damage to a boss. Some people like furnishing their house, some people like collecting pets and achievements, and some people like dressing their characters in cool new outfits everyday.

My point is that for those people that care about these things more than you do, locking these items to an expensive real-life event is unfair.

It's not an unfair advantage. Everyone has the same chance to go and get that special in-game item until such a time as the tickets are sold out.

Not everyone can take those days off work, not everyone can afford the ticket + travel fees + hotel fees. In a perfect world, everyone would have the same chance but alas. And even as you said, there are a limited amount of tickets.

You yourself state that these are merely "pixels" in a video game. If it is so insignifant and everyone already has equal chance to attend then what is wrong with selling the items alone?

That's really pessimistic and i feel sorry for you, i'm not saying ppl should be compensated, pll just shouldn't be compensated for having an advantage, about why can't they give in-game items, i have already stated my opinion about it in my second or third post in this thread.

Also i said, ticket, travel and hotel, not just ticket, don't cheat.

Trying to close the thread? you're tired of this but to me it sounds more like "i must have an item you can't obtain". Both sides of the problem are wrong and right, i'll be happy if they just remove the in-game item, or make it something like aetheryte tickets.

You have a lot to learn if you think that's pessimism. It's called being realistic.
