I fully support any type of beard-love. It's very depressing to have such an incredibly robust character creator and be stuck with such subpar options for beards.

You know, you really don't see those European/medieval-style wizard-esque beards outside of the west. While it is a staple in those sort of settings, you really wouldn't expect to see a whole lot of it outside of it. I really can't picture a well blended Gandalf running around Eorzea and looking like he belongs to this game world.

Also, yeah, Ramuh kind of embodies the Old Wizened Wizard with a long @$$ beard trope...



In fact technically I think Ramuh's beard is longer and thicker than is actually technically possible without damaging one's neck... but that is okay, he is an immortal aetheric entity...

Also, saying you don't see that trope played out in Asians or the Far East is in fact a blatant lie. Take a look at these guys for example:





Sure, their beards aren't as long or uniform as Gandalf's, Saruman's, or Dumbledore's, but they do exist.

For some reason or another Ramuh's beard looks like a blob of whipped cream to me in the videos. It doesn't move as freely as a beard that size should.
