I would not mind farming Myth whatsoever.....it is your choice to farm Brayflox over and over again. But you also have multiple other dungeons to run to achieve the same goals be it not as fast but it can be done to break the grind.

Achievement: 3.000 Fates on the 06/05/2014Nero, I would be happy to correct you...I stated that I got the achievement Destiny's Child on my 6th day of grinding fates which would have been the 06/05/2014, then 2 days later I got the achievement Let the Bodies hit the Floor which is 100000 mobs killed on the 7th 2 days later. Not once did I state I did 7000 fates in 8 days....I stated I was at 10,214 by the end of Friday, 06/14/14. So please do not make someone appear to be a liar with incorrect quotes just to attempt to discredit someone...thank you for concern anyways.
You are at 10.214 by end of Friday 06/14/2014
That makes 7.214 Fates in 9 Days, if you do not count the day you got the 3k Achievement, we talk about 8 Days. So you in fact stated, that you did 7.214 Fates in 8 Days. How is that an incorrect quote?
QFT, Got all my Atma's in about 15 hours. But that grind for the books now thats just killing but wait till you have to start the books and sit at a fate for about 2-4 hours![]()
besides what sounds like obvious bs, no one is going to believe you mainly because to go from 3000 completed to 10,214 in 9 days, is just pure lies. unless you have proof that you did this, and even then, people would be hard pressed to think its true, no one is going to be on your "atma sucks, soothe me" side. as for what Nero said, i agree. even with horrible rng, its statisticly impossible to do that many fates and come out with only two atma.I stated that I got the achievement Destiny's Child (3000 Fates) on my 6th day of grinding fates which would have been the 06/05/2014, then 2 days later I got the achievement Let the Bodies hit the Floor which is 100000 mobs killed on the 7th 2 days later. I hereby challenge someone to record video of fate grinding for 10 hours straight and no atma. I'll admit I'm skeptical - but if this insanely bad luck curse is indeed accurate and someone has spent 10 hours of "actively" participating in all possible fates and can't get an atma drop than maybe SE would be more inclined to accelerate any drop rate adjustment (if an actual video exists).
The skeptic in me says that it will be very very tough for anyone to capture video of it taking more than 6 hours for a single atma. While I am skeptical - It's obviously possible for this to happen (if not insanely improbable).
Me personally - I had an atma take 5 to 6 hours. The others averaged 2 to 3. My strategy was to gold medal all fates and fully finish them all (might not make a difference), teleport to aetherytes to speed up getting to the next fate and basically give it full effort the entire time.
My only comment to you is in regards to:
How do you know what they should be? Only SE knows what they want the drop rate to be and since they haven't changed it since they released it, I'm pretty sure they are where the should be. Just because you don't like the drop rate, doesn't mean it's wrong or broken.Atma drops are way incredibly low for what they should
mathematically speaking (and I'm extremely bad at math. Also, I'm delirious from lack of sleep watching World Cup everyday and have to go to work in the morning), if you did 10214 fates over the course of 2 weeks with sleeping and eating, let's say you slept 4 hours per day. Without doing anything else but camp your PC all day, say you play 20 hours per day. That's still 280 hours over the course of 2 weeks.Of course I slept and ate, but my time eating was no more than 10 minutes in between waiting for fates to pop. As I stated, the total count for fates done was 10, 214, while many may not believe a player would be so meticulous about something. I wanted to prove a point while also showing sincere regret of my previous attitude but showing genuine effort and determination.
10214/280 = 36.47 fates per hour = 1.21 fate per 2 minutes. That's possible, I suppose. Not counting spawn timer, fate distance, teleport timer, zone loading, etc.
Such bad luck though. I have 1 animus (halfway to novus) + 3 atma weapon, I remember it only took me 5 days max per atma weapon (I completed my bravura atma within 3 days, even), and I didn't even play 20 hours per day lol. I'd say I have good luck, but for all 4 weapons? I must be doing something right to the RNG gods lol XD
You're doing it wrong my friend. First and foremost let me stress the main fact, EVERYBODY MUST NOT HEAD INTO THE ATMA FARMING BELIEVING THEY WILL HAVE ALL 12 IN ONE DAY!
Do not do it for 10 hours a day, since it is random the amount of time you put in is irrelevant. So putting in a couple hours and then going off to do something else is better for many reasons than farming for one single item until your fingers bleed. I will give you my example. I obtained my final Atma piece on May 26/2014 (when did the patch come out that released this?). I did it for 2 hours max most days (or 2 chocobo summons) that I could play. Many of those 2 hours were on only weekends. If I didn't get one I either logged out to save my sanity or found something else to do. It's a casual quest to be treated with a casual approach.
I didn't jump zones either since again this is irrelevant to the randomness it won't decrease or increase your chances. In all honesty I hardly grouped for it either, it was just me and my chocobo.
Keep at it, stop stressing, but if it's getting you down, log out and take your mind off it.

06/05/14-06/14/14 Total 12,960 minutes-216 hours-9 DAYS. You may believe me or not but I sincerely kept count of the number of fates I did. You also have to remember that you only need to get Gold from a fate not actual stay for the whole thing while other players finish it.
