...you're very incoherent. Lay off the coke, throw out your smartphone and look at what you typed. Do you sound smart?

They aren't gutting the game. Much of what made XIV like it is, will be kept, but with tweaks. You're just grumpy that Square didn't get the patches out sooner.

You'd be amazed how much easier it is to follow XIV's progress from a distance, rather than going crazy waiting every day.
This is what I've been doing, and I'm one of these players that doesn't want FFXI-2. I played FFXI. It was great when I played it, but I don't want a clone, and FFXIV in its state is still barely playable. I'm sticking around giving feedback and testing the game though, since we're back in Alpha stage. But I'm not devoting the majority of my free time to this game.

o so ill just ignore that almost every1 who bought FF14 thought it was a waste of money and hates it and by thier word of mouth FF14 is still magicly a good game in ppls minds after these patches? (expecially when most of the ppl who complain quit long ago and wont see that it ever turned around and will still say bad things about it) i wish i knew how to market this well

FFXIV cannot be equal to those games for another 2 years, and by then. . . .

the other problem, thats the old market, if they try to make this game like those games, they will be coming to the party late. do you really think two years from now, or even a year from now, that the MMO market will be the same? GW2 coming out, Tera, Blade and soul, archeage, WoWs next project, all the various start up MMOs, Online multi player games that cut into the market like pso2. Maybe even squares next mmo.

There is a time to think of the past, and think of the future, now is time for the future of MMOs, and online gaming as a whole.

These people who they are appealing to, will not pay for a side WoW, or something for when rift hasnt updated. A lot of people who say they would like these changes have no intention of paying for this game, they would like these changes if it were f2p.

what people want first and foremost is a really good game the failure of tanakas era, was that the game was not finished enough to be a good game. If yoshidas era fails, it will be coming too late to the party. If they wanted to reinvent the game fine, but they should have reinvented it,

I still dont see how they plan to hit a wider market by imitating wow, the people who love wow, arent going anywhere. the people who they havent tapped, were not interested in WoW.
Perty much how i feel about it.

Though I agree and have been trying to stay very optimistic about this game. I also disagree with the fact that they're not trying to satisfy the current players. Although the current population is low, many people who play MMOs know other people who do the same. I was brought back to this game by a friend who said that it was going to be revamped and had alot of potential around March. The state it's in right now is the same as when I started back up...rank up to 50...and then do it all over again. The only thing that made it more bareable was knowing if I fought a mob I was gauranteed SP (which was the dumbest idea ever at launch) fight a mob and hope you get SP...Simply the most frustrating thing ever. There is nothing else to do rather than rank up, no content hurt this games potential big time. I will continue to wait though and be patient, as I completely agree with OPs stance on sitting back and waiting for patches to roll in. Rather then going apeshit when the first patch doesn't fit the hype/expectations.

@ OP: what a bunch of coblyn crap.

This remake would prolly never have happend if it werent for the fans
getting upset on how broken & poorly everything was made at the start.

Anywayz, yes... one good thing you did mention thou is to play other games
in the meantime to take of the edge of waiting.

Hell im even playing World of Crapcraft and a few Steam games now & then. (still kicking rocks in Fallout NW)

I have to say I'm one of the people who have been excited about this game from the beginning and I'm still looking forward to every update. It's simply because Square Enix makes the quality of product that I enjoy. Despite FFXIV's problems and lack of content I see it's potential to be the kind of MMORPG that I want to play.

However, I am sad about the widespread target audience for the game. Final Fantasy XI targeted a niche audience and it just so happened those were the best people I've ever met in a video game. I had hoped that Final Fantasy XIV would follow in its footsteps and do what they were already famous for. The reason isn't because I wanted FFXI-2 but because there are very few developers out there willing to be different. Every other MMORPG out there is attempting to target the same audience FFXIV is.

I still think the game is great and think Yoshida is doing a great job at being compromising in his designs. The talent is still there despite this minor issue and we'll get a quality game no matter who the target audience is.

While i do understand what you are trying to say here, OP. I don't think you can make a game radically different (active combat, unique class system, leves, behest) with silly and downright insulting limitations (fatigue and "bonus experience" aka Surplus), alienate all the fans of the series plus everyone that was giving it a try out of curiosity and then starting from scratch making it into themepark la-la-land with built in easy mode hoping you get new players to suddenly jump aboard and think its the second coming of WoW.

Sorry, thats not going to happen. The people that will stay until the end are the fans and those that see potential and like it. This title will NEVER be successful like mainstream F2P or WoW clones. It will not even gain the loyal following that FF11 has.

Is 20 dmg for the hit like 30 dmg if a RNG shoots?
No DRG for party, camp spot site with 30 dmg, but is it for 20 like 30 dmg when you no hit be it for dd, for 30 dmg instead? or half is 10 for 20 dmg?
    How i mine for fish?
