Okay, I wanted to post this and get it out of the way because I was told to post it here during my 10 day long forum suspension by the Square-Enix Support Staff. They basically said that all discussion about LGBT Topics needs to occur either in this thread, or in the LGBT Linkshell and Free Company Listing Thread. And since I didn't want to derail that thread with discussion that has nothing to do with that topic, I thought I would post it here. So Mods, please don't lock or delete this thread, otherwise the Square-Enix Support Staff will be guilty of being hypocrites, and I include the Moderators of the Forum in the Support Staff category because they are housed in the same room as the Support Staff, at least according to the guy who told me to post this here.
Anyways, onto the heart of the matter.
What I really wanted to discuss was that I don't think that Square-Enix will have a problem in the long run with instituting Same-Gender Marriages for the simple reason that Disney itself doesn't have a problem with Same Gender Marriages. I know this because the Star Wars Universe is okay with Same-Gender Marriages, and Disney owns Star Wars now. Not to mention Disney Tokyo is allowing Same-Gender Unions to take place on their grounds. Although these unions are not legal marriages, they are still recognized by the people of Japan, even if not by the authorities in their government. So any claims that Japan itself is unilaterally against Same-Gender Marriages falls flat on its face.

this so much. honestly. I don't care if anyone is LGBT. When you make it known to the point that you feel it should be game altering or to let the world know that you are LGBT is ridiculous.
Is it really necessary to shout to the world that you are different? As I've said in another thread...It is naive to think that the majority of the human race would be willing to accept such ideas despite the time we live in. Some may be open minded and accepting, but the majority will be unwilling to accept. I am not saying the LGBT community should live in hiding...but they shouldn't make a conscious effort to blatantly differentiate themselves from everyone else. Read into it all you want and keep trying the "love" argument but it will always remain that man and woman is the natural order of things...that is procreation.
There. I said it.![]()
No Logo, that isn't Racist, that is Discrimination based on Sexual Orientation. Which is in fact a form of Prejudice.

And as I have already pointed out, it is only the Japanese Government that is against Same-Gender Marriages. The everyday people in Japan aren't actually completely against it. As of March 1st and 2nd 2014, a poll was taken in Japan that shows that around 42.3% of the population was in support of Same-Gender Marriage. That is a significant number of people. Yes, the majority of people in Japan are against Same-Gender Marriage, but not by an overwhelming margin.

Social norms and popular opinion aren't the same thing.
With the opinion split like that, the safe bet is going with what's traditionally acceptable. You'll need 60% or so acceptance before they consider it. The counterculture is in the process of being blended into the mainstream, it will just take time.
