Vote Kick Abuse at its best.

So i just went to go do a stone vigil run to try lvl up my SMN.
It was a pain the tank and MNK would between the 2 of them pull everything and take AOEs to the face so i had to switch to back up healer. I then asked them to nicely please try to dodge AOEs.
We then get to the first boss and as you know he has 2 cone attack moves one he uses on tank and another he moves to the side and wipes half the map. This is why you tank him in the middle to make it easy to dodge the second move.
The tank decided to tank him at the side! So yes guess what he turns around and zaps me and the healer in the face with no warning that he was going do cause he was stupidly tank to the side.
Seconds after i ask why he was not tanking him in the middle he shouts at me "If you cant dodge learn the fight!" shortly after i was vote kicked as well as my friend the healer.

Even better i reported this abuse to SE they generally mailed me back saying its my fault for not knowing how they were planing to take on the dungeon that its my fault that the 2 people in question abused the vote system to remove me and the healer!

meaning my fault i did talk to the tank as he rushed of without waiting for a discussion on how we will fight a boss

Again like i said i asked why he did do it the way i have seen most people go and just got the replay if you cant dodge learn the fight! This is all the discussion i got of the tank befor being kicked

To be honest, whilst I mainly take him to the middle if I'm tanking, I've been in many parties where the tank has left him to the side and had no trouble with anyone dieing or getting hit by Swinge. After all even if he's already at the wall, Swinge still gives you time to get behind him if you're actually paying attention.

If you're a ranged DPS or Mage it'll be a good idea to stay medium range to him positioned at his flanks, so as to quickly get to the wall.

Sounds like douches... but for that first boss, you can tank it where ever really.
Healers and ranged dps just stand close up behind it. That move takes sometime to charge, when it turns towards you, just run through it.

SE has already stated they aren't going to mediate player disputes about how a dungeon should be run. It's okay to kick for watching cutscenes, not performing well, not speed running if everyone else wants to, etc. Majority rules as far as they're concerned. The report function is for someone being verbally abusive in chat and not much more than that.

Sorry to hear about that, unfortunately it happens though.

Regarding the positioning though, I have always tanked it at the side, as has every other Tank I've been in there with. I'm not saying your way is wrong, but maybe be a bit more open minded about alternative strategies.

I've tanked this 1st boss plenty of times and always face him to whatever wall closest to me. And it will want to turn around and do its thing, and it is so obvious that people dodge it easily. And even if they don't it is not a one-hit kill is it? I've done healer there too and I had healed plenty of the people that didn't dodge or didn't do the dodge correctly. But in general it is like a non-issue. You'd have to be hit twice in a row without heals, or not dodging something else to end up with a wipe.

The hardest thing on stone vigil is that room with 2 aevis, 2 frost elements, and whatever else is in there. Trying to clear that room without wipe is like less than 5% odds. And then there is the 3 aevis just before the final boss. Do that one wrong and you get a wipe for sure.

Gah..this is one of many reasons I roll on Japanese servers. Blows that you got booted for this. My advise for any future runs on this boss is always stay close behind it regardless where it gets tanked.

While it sounds like that group wasnt the best if they werent even dodging aoes, I've never once been in a group that tanked that boss in the middle. He runs to the edges anyway its far easier on the tank to just face him back to the wall. You've obviously done the dungeon before and you knew he turns to use swinge so you can't say you were zapped with no warning.

so a strait vote kick after boss fight because I died and every guide on the fight tells you tank him in the middle to give party time to move out the way. again his quote "if you cant doge learn the fight" and strait kick after the fight strait after with nothing more said. This is not classified as abuse of the vote system?

Correct me of am wrong but on vote kick there is not an option for "kick because this player dose not play the way i do."
