This made me SO happy to hear. I mean I think many of us knew that this would finally happen but it's so awesome to hear these words come out of his mouth.

Interesting, I'll have to watch the full of this.
That aside, I think it's entirely possible at the time the level cap is raised for it to be added - the same way that Summoners currently aren't getting new pets, but they've already been promised for once the level cap is raised, simply because it offsets their balance with other classes to simply give them new tools right now.
EDIT: But I'm surprised people aren't more excited over Yoshida basically confirming a future Gilgamesh Extreme and saying that after Crystal Tower wraps up there'll be another 'retro-inspired' area brought in.

I'm guessing either a minion or when they add job LB's drg can call down a wyvern to divebomb the battle field.
I came in this thread worrying but it seems like he won't nerf Dragoon's power so thank goodness. That pet wyvern made Dragoon bad in FFXI.
*Groan* Another FFXI fan jumping the gun - Yoshi never said in that video "yes it's coming" - he just accepted that it's well requested and explained why it's not in the game and that to bring it into ARR would require major rebalancing of the DRG Job itself, something they don't want to do. So basically that came across to me as "You have a better chance of seeing a FFVII remake on PS3 than DRG getting a wyvern pet in ARR, at least in the next few years."
Besides, how FFXIV is designed, there is literally zero need for a wyvern pet with DRG - the wyvern in FFXI after all had it's abilities and AI dictated by whatever sub-Job the player had equipped, something which doesn't exist in FFXIV, so yeah, you just know that if SE did add a wyvern to DRG here, it would not be how players expect it to be, and will complain and whine constantly about it (after all, look at the people complaining about SMN). It's just something that really isn't needed in FFXIV.

You will get wyvern pet..
.. as an exclusive wind-up minion!!!!!!!![]()
When they do implement class specific limit breaks that'd actually be a great idea to have for Dragoon. That way DRG gets their wyvern without screwing with job balance.
This is exactly what I thought... He basically denied that DRG's would get a Wyvern, at least not for a very long time...*Groan* Another FFXI fan jumping the gun - Yoshi never said in that video "yes it's coming" - he just accepted that it's well requested and explained why it's not in the game and that to bring it into ARR would require major rebalancing of the DRG Job itself, something they don't want to do. From this, you got "DRG will get a Wyvern pet"... Why? Where? o.O
I think this is a very good solution too. I honestly don't want a pet for my DRG, not in that way at least, and a Wyvern LB would be enough for now

Dragoon is not a pet class. Ugh....so stupid. FFXI really warped you maniacs.
