Some people like first time experience with no handicaps.
Dive in and explore themselves.
Yea sadly we can't do it here, you get sent to the stake.
It sucks, but I like to learn on my own but nowadays I'm personally
sick of hearing naggin'...esp now I'm doing coil, you see folks true colours...
i go into every fight blind never tell anyone never care i wipe us till they rage rinse repeat till i know the content it's pretty funny watching the drama.
this isn't a movie i'm not watching anything!
I just don't understand one thing, people talk about experiencing content and exploring, but they go in asking the party for an explanation on what to do, so what is the difference between looking it up beforehand and having someone write down to you what you would have looked up?Some people like first time experience with no handicaps.

And all that's great...in single player games. Some people like first time experience with no handicaps.

It's common courtesy, MMO or elsewhere, to do simple things that prevent you from wasting other peoples' time in group activities.
Because the mechanics are generally trivial, and you know "multiplayer" game and all that. It's almost as if we're supposed to communicate with people.
I didn't know it was common courtesy to look up a basically "cheat code". I wanna see the fight for myself...if I have trouble after asking
I'll probably look it up. I don't wanna spoil myself.
What's wrong with others explaining? Yeah make this game more anti-social why don't you.
We all realize this game is pretty very anti-social...right?
It makes more sense to look up things in a single player game...you're playing alone.
We're in a MMO, with...other people. o.o
Again, those things you can read yourself. Why do they have to spend minutes writing them down for you? If we are going by your logic they are then spoiling the fight for you.I didn't know it was common courtesy to look up a basically "cheat code". Thats not socializing, thats making people do your work for you. I understand asking questions, asking for clarifications, but full on going in and asking what to do is just.. I don't even know how to describe it.
No it makes more sense in single player games to do whatever you want cause there's no amount of other peoples' time that's involved.
Anti-social? Well, you're not going to make friends by going into fights completely unawares.
Let's back this out of MMO talk and say in general, how would you expect people to react if you were to join in some game people are playing and not have a single clue? Like, you see people playing basketball and ask to join, then if they say ok, you say "ok, how do I play?" How do you think that would go from that point?
We're in a MMO, people in DF shouldn't expect you to be perfect, but have an idea at least.
Or you could blame SE for making pretty much every single fight that matters more of a pattern memorization game than actual difficulty. The players that are mad at you are basically looking at it from that perspective.
I for one don't even mind new people to a fight, even if you haven't looked it up. For one thing, say that right out from the very beginning. And apologise for doing it. Because as much as I wouldn't be bothered, I believe anyone who is has every right to be.
If we're talking HM dungeons, yeah.
Unfortunately, we're talking Binding Coil stuff.
Turn 4 isn't too bad, though still potentially very nasty, and relies a lot on knowing what's coming, when, and how it's going to be dealt with. Turn 5 and onwards turns that up to 11, so to speak - it's not just "oh it just takes a minute to say 'boss goes invincible every 25% HP, kill adds then wait in the center and knock the bombs to the outer edge by attacking them'." It's basically five separate boss fights, one after another, each with their positioning, mechanics, and methods.
