If not, to throw out speculation regarding OP's original question - I think they'll use the original AF as a catalyst towards new AF, rather than a drop by itself. I might be wrong, but it would give the gear a purpose, rather than just something to be tossed into the armoire for novelty sake. If they went along a line similar to the original Relic quest, treat the AF pieces as a base model for the new AF to be modified with. Which would also be why they have made AF available through the Calamity Salvager so if you happen to have tossed yours by accident, you can just go back and buy it again for 50k.

If they really wanted to keep that system relevant as well, they could go the XI route with the AF type of gear, +1, +2, if they used the system I mentioned for the AF2(+1), use the Myth Job gear (which is basically just AF+1) for a +2 increase in stats and ilevel. Not likely right away, but let's say for instance if this gear drops from CT in 2.3, set at a low ilvl than that of the Soldiery gear, then the Myth gear can be used to boost it higher at 2.4. Could be neat, just have to wait and see what they have planned. But doing this would also free up two entire sets of gear from inventory, which I'm sure everyone would welcome.

Which would also mean, sadly, I'll have to start getting pretty active with myth farming to finish buying the rest of the DoW/DoM sets >.> So much myth farming for my atma book, I really dont want to anymore lol

It still looks 100 times better then a dumb horn. But that style or the coil style or any circlet style for that matter, would be an improvement over what we have now.

In regards to What Akujin said, I'd prefer it to be started gear again tbh. If they made you take up a cool quest to get it, or improve your original armor ala Relic reborn, they could use it as a way for new players to catch up without to much of an insane grind through dungeons for tomes.

Really? To me, it looks a lot more Feral and imposing than the current AF, so I think it suits its nature as a WAR especially.
