i one time started to pull the first few mobs in brayflox hm when it wouldn't let me use Shield lob, so i stopped right before i got to them and the dps pulled them and tanked them until they were dead, while i stood there trying to figure out why the heck i couldn't use shield lob. Well i just upped my zenith to atma and the gear set i had saved couldn't find my shield when i switched to pld so yeah I didn't have my shield on which is why i couldn't use shield lob XD

When healers pull aggro I don't run off to save them.

I always give commendations to fellow DPS, even if they were horrible, even if they were AFK the entire time and we had the greatest tank of all time who carried the team, was charismatic, and over all just an amazing stellar player - DPS will still get my commendation.

I played a tank in WoW for over 4 years, and have tanked in various other games. Tanks and Healers alike are both glory hogs who make it out to seem as though their job is insanely hard. The truth is each member of the team is valuable and important, playing a key role. I give my commendations to DPS to show that some one actually does realize their worth and value to that team. The FFXIV community especially could take that into consideration.

For starters, WoW is not XIV. Obviously a party cannot function without DPS, but there is a ton more responsibility tossed on tanks and healers in this game. DPS get the luxury of blending in. If a party goes south, generally the tank or healer is the first to get blamed, regardless of fault. I stick by my original comment. Go level one and see if your opinion stays the same.

Hard and valuable are two different things. Also, by always giving it to the DPS - "even if they were horrible, even if they were AFK the entire time and we had the greatest tank of all time who carried the team, was charismatic, and over all just an amazing stellar player" - you're doing it out of spite to the tank, plain and simple. It's your commendation and you can choose whomever you want for any reason, but in this case it's a selfish and petty one.

Tanking and Healing is practically the same no matter the game you are playing. Your point about blame is another problem, not just with this game but with most, where you instantly put on a guilt trip thinking you always get blamed for every thing. In my own personal experience the DPS is typically getting blamed at for something; checking these forums alone there are tons of posts of "Lol dps did this" "lol dps did that", heck even in this one there are examples of that. So my point remains that DPS will typically be the butt end of a joke, often overlooked and under appreciated.

Again, I choose to give my commendations to DPS because I want to show that they are appreciated. The healers, the tanks, they don't need all the glory, they don't need to be patted on the back all the time for doing their job, and at the same time DPS do not deserve to constantly be put down and walked all over. The fact that your apparently jealous over not getting glorified at this moment is pretty weird.

Not exactly "Shameful", but a few days ago i did a "bad" tanking job on Brayflox HM. Didn't lost hate but i saw how dps were really close to take my aggro a few times. I was thinking "wow, i'm ilvl 90, but.. i guess those lvl 94+ dps hit harder...". Before the last boss i saw i forgot to use "shield oath" at the beginning of the dungeon... But hey, i didn't lost hate ò.ó/

Also, maybe i'm a bad guy... each time i do Titan HM/EX and T5 i always look at hp bars from everyone, just to see who's gonna get hit by plummes/divebombs/twister xD
