The wedding dress details, while vague, had me shed a tear in joy. I hope they are visions to behold, XI's wedding dress wasn't much of a dress.

actually.True, but i seriously doubt this is going to "make or break" the game. If they did same sex marriage people aren't going to be offended to the point of unsubbing or just screaming bloody murder about it enough for it to matter. If they don't do same sex marriage same thing. I think a ton of people would be let down but they aren't going to quit playing over it.
it's going to make or break a lot of ppl who like same sex ppl.
im not sure if u guys were in Beta forums but many ppl were already going to leave this game if they didnt allow same sex.
i kinda find that a bit silly, but i understand the disappoint if it were not implemented. i wouldnt quit lol.
now i cant remember if SE chipped in recently but some time ago they said they wasn't going to not sure if its changed.
i'm all in for gay rights. it wont hurt no one but to ex out a group isnt nice. ):
i say do it, everyone wins.
it's just a really tender subject to jump in to. so who knows what'll SE does.
It is like with TERA where people claimed they had to add hot pants to Elins or the game would only be played by freaks. Within 6 months there were uncensored clothing sold in the cash shop, and not a single person made comments about the original clothing returning that way. (The censorship was complained about for over a year though)
In the end, players are very accepting of extremes in games. Because players in general can tell the difference between a game and reality.
RIFT did a marriage system better than any I've seen elsewhere. Buy the outfits, license, rings, you get a private instance for the event where only people you invite can come (prevents being harassed by morons), and a spot after with tables full of food to celebrate. Anyone can marry anyone, sex doesnt matter.
SE can do something special here or they can play it safe and stick to "accepted norms" in Japan. Sadly, I fear they're gonna screw the Moogle on it. =(
That's mostly because everyone who cared about the censorship was modding the game's armor files to replace the censored armor with the original Korean textures anyway. EnMasse pretty much knew about it and turned a blind eye to it so long as you weren't advertising it. By the time the game even got a cash shop, most players had quit anyway. It is like with TERA where people claimed they had to add hot pants to Elins or the game would only be played by freaks. Mabinogi has same sex marriage.
I don't like The Loadstone's posting restrictions so most my posts will be found at ffxivrealm.com.
Really ready to see what SMN's LB will be!

I hope marriage only has cosmetic benefits. From an RP standpoint, my main would never get married but if the marriage system has unique items/buffs/craftables I would feel forced into it.Finalizing designs on marriage system (not coming in 2.3) (get married at the big church in east shroud). Wedding dress for brides will have semi transparent parts and flowing movement. should look great.
Wedding rings will be created for married couples. Discarding the rings will "divorce" them (lol).
I also predict is that restrictions will be in place as a hidden ploy to boost phantasia sales. Once the sales dwindle, SE will pretend to play hero and lift them or go full retard and nullify any same-sex marriages made possible through phantasia claiming they never intended for it to happen.
Well since they didn't specify what those changes are for Limit Break I will rather not assume and get my hopes up. Instead I'll look forward to individual housing, Golden Saucer, and front lines instead until they go into more detail.![]()
The problem with same sex marriage in a Japanese MMO, is the fact they see Same sex couples as "Childish" or "immature" they dont care if younger people are together, but when you get older, it's kind of expected for you to get with someone of the opposite gender (This being said, not all of Japan sees it that way, this is just how my JP friend explained it to me) on top of Yoshi having said in the past, not a direct quote, he wont be looking into same sex marriage for obvious Backlash reasons
