The person who was offering to help for a payout of 4,000,000 gil said I should stop being lazy and put in the time to find helpers. I see a contradiction, he says I should put in more time, but he expects 4m gil for 10 minutes work. It would take a long time to make that kind of money through normal gameplay without robbing a fellow player. I already put in enough time to find good groups without success. I don't want to play a waiting game any more where all my time is spent seeking suitable helpers who have the same goals in mind. Since endgame content is off the cards I just have to wait for v2.3 for the next set of main scenario content in order to have something new I can progress with.

    Does this actually work?
If someone made a seperate account and leveled it to 50 and caught up to endgame stuff and bought gil. They would then look for people selling runs for millions of gil. Once they have found their target they would then use the bought gil and pay them for the clear, once they " infect" the run seller would that run seller be valid for a ban because of the interaction with bought gil?
If so, then haha lol someone should go try that.

sad to say this but you're better off with a video, and i wish you wasnt.
it's better because god forbid you ask questions, ppl get pissy and call you names...or simply, DON'T RESPOND! happened to me, and i died
and someone said to kick me.

i am honestly scared of the DF because im scared ima mess up, get kicked, get reported for some reason b*tched at hard. this damn game is like playing league of legends. it's very refreshing when ppl try to help. i try too, even tho ima horrible explainer xD! sometimes i have n choice but
to use the DF. My fc is either busy or doesnt have alot of 50's or something.
you screw up one damn time and that's then end of you.
i thought there were a lot of adults on this game, and i'd finally have an a mmo with a mature, see ppl have kids and wives but
they turn around and be a f*ck head to u, u wonder if their wife n kids get this treatment or husband catches an earful all hes life.
i said in some previous posts, ill never watch a video and learned as i go or ask questions. sadly, we cant do that anymore w/o
everyone having a conniption so i joined the video club.

still loling at the fact IGN called this community "great". must be on something that day lol.

Why would I help someone who's not asking for help? Some people wants to learn on their own, while some wants to be carried. If it's the latter, sorry, but I'd rather not waste my time on people who doesn't want to exert an effort in learning.

I disagree. Youtube videos are great because anyone that doesn't have much time to play or new to a fight can learn on their own and not be dependent on finding players to teach them.

Firstly, if someone wishes to pay 4m, then the person receiving the money is not "robbing" them. They are receiving money and providing a service in return.

Secondly, your estimate of the time taken ignores several factors. The people selling the fights have likely spent a large amount of time learning the fight thoroughly and have invested their effort into extremely high performance. Just because each run takes in the region of ten minutes does not negate the many hours of work prior to that.

If you don't wish to pay, then yes - form a static or join groups and learn the fight to the point you can defeat it. It takes time to learn and best a fight in an MMO, and if you've barely put the effort in then you can hardly complain. Unless you perform perfectly, never getting hit, and maintaining a very high output, you still have more to learn.

Honestly, with the echo buff and everything now, most duty finder groups can complete stuff with atleast 5 competent members. Most people are also geared to the teeth with far better gear than required to finish the content. Instead of wanting people who have already cleared the content to come back, you can learn with other people who need the fight. I beat titan extreme in a duty finder party. It does happen.

If you want success, join a static group. Don't ask other players to come back and carry people through fights cause some players suck. I help friends who ask. Party finder is your friend as well. You keep trying with a party finder until you get it. I know it takes much longer than duty finder. Make sure you are trying at a popular time during your server. Don't try running extreme content at weird times or you aren't going to get people. Atleast with party finder you have some control over who goes with you.

Also, asking those who have finished the fight, you are going to get a lot of elitist responses. You are going to get a lot more of "if you can't dodge first try you get kicked." That isn't the friendliest attitude to new players. This will be amplified if there is something on the line for the older player, like a reward. You are going to get a lot of elitist complaints if "random" parties can complete what they completed in a static group. They complain now but it will be a lot worse since their pride (epeen) is on the line.

Im sure they will keep upping the echo buff as the game continues to update. When they add the next turns on coil, I'm sure they will add more echo buff. More of a buff is not going to fix those who can't dodge. Echo buff just allows those few who can do the content carry the dead person who got hit with weight of the land or landslide.

I haven't completed turn 5, but I just joined a static group that can clear it. I've made it past the snake/dive bomb phase then the party finder parties usually wipe. I'm tired of dying to it because of other people, but I'm not going to ask older players to carry me through it.

I think the community on XIV have both, the good side and the bad side. I've found tons of really nice players who were whilling to help and spend time with you and lots of bad players and people that rq after one try and even talk shit. And even when we see someone that is struggling and we try to say something about it 95% of the time or he get pissed or just say something like "Don't tell me what to do". I've seen so many PLD using Halone by itself, not even the full combo to pick up hate, as a PLD myself that hurts my poor <3 lol
I did try to help a lot of them in the beggining when people were whilling to learn but after sometime people just slapped you when you try to help them.

I think, too, many players have a limited amount of time to play. Even if they play for a few hours every day, why spend an hour or two helping people with content for little/no reward (and sometimes not even a 'thank you')? And just how many people can faceroll the 'hard' fights? I have no problem with the easy, low level stuff but, even though I've passed it, I feel nervous offering to help with some 'endgame' stuff.
