True. It's not just one statement. He's made a few of them. We know Musketeer is something since 1.0 that should be added. So there is a gun class. And we know that he wants a dagger/stealth class as well. After that, it is really conjecture. But the only class I know he's mentioned by name is Red Mage. And I think he said something along the lines of, it can't be a FF game without a Red Mage. Again, I could be wrong. But that was what I remember.

But a guy can freaking hope! I would love to shoot people in the face with status changing affection!
